I saw 3 of their aircraft at Oslo recently.

Boston, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington DC will be served from Gatwick this summer by long-haul low-cost carrier Norse Atlantic Airways.

The new transatlantic routes are in addition to services already scheduled to Fort Lauderdale and Orlando from May and an existing New York service.

Three new routes announced for this winter -

Daily Barbados from October 29
Montego Bay 4 weekly from October 29
Kingston 3 weekly from October 31

However, this won’t represent an huge increase on this summer as some of the routes announced for this summer will be summer seasonal only.

It's more about getting the winter programme to be profitable rather than matching the size of the summer programme.

The previous incarnation of Norwegian basically flew to the same destinations in winter as in summer, albeit with reduced frequencies.

The fact that Norse are looking at different winter routes suggests that the new outfit isn't just a rebranded Norwegian, however we will have to wait and see whether these new routes work for them.

TUI have this covered through holidays. Virgin have it covered with cruising/holidays out of Heathrow (used to be LGW also) as well as VFR. BA have a deep knowledge of the VFR on these routes alongside offering BA holidays.

What is norse to gain?

Bangkok is a new route for winter, starting at the end of October and having up to 4 weekly flights.

It is so hot in summer I wouldn`t want to be there in summer,it was 130F in October when we went

Yep i can imagine. I've been in Reno in the summer and that was 100F though it was a dry heat still too hot. Las Vegas is definitely a winter destination!

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
