Well the airline announced at a press conference they are starting Birmingham, isn't that a confirmation even without a start date ?
Yeah, but you don’t know when exactly their starting. It may be 2024 or 5. Not saying this is the real time their starting by the way.

I hadn’t realised that Andy Street takes responsibility for publicity and general marketing at BHX. I can understand the rationale, however to me, it simply reflects the continual ineffectiveness of the organisation.
Nonetheless, excellent news for its supportive passengers.

Andy Street promotes all aspects of the West Midlands, housing associations, railway stations, airports, shopping centres, you name it Always in the local papers. Good on him.

I think the update may have been Riyadh Air not Saudi
Riyadh have just ordered 72 B789's (inc optrions)

The article below (from Boeing) mentions Saudi Arabian carriers purchasing up to 121 B787s, so potentially Saudia getting a load more as well.

An order from the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) covering both Saudia and the new Riyadh Air has been rumoured for both Boeing and Airbus aircraft, so there's likely more announcements in the coming months.

Saying that wouldnt mind both :)

Given their intention to become the next Emirates, if not bigger, it may just be a matter of time.

Boeing are really struggling to deliver as there are still problems so I would hazard a guess of early 2025 for first delivery

The latest delay Is more about errors in some component paperwork and trying to trace it back to where the error started.
So should be back to production soon.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
