Perhaps they will as they expand further.
There’s very much an anti competitive attitude from the Aussie Government . They have just refused QR additional slots into Australia , because it “ would be detrimental to Qantas” ,even though Qantas doesnt operate to any Middle East destinations let alone Doha .. As a Brummie living in Australia I would love an alternative operator to fly me back to the UK , but I’m not holding my breath .

And by my calcs, the last 10 SV departures have had an Av LF of 92%, as Ian has said, the departing fligths are going out pretty close to/if not full.

i wonder if the 787-10 has any additional cargo benefit over the 787-9 as i hear cargo is doing well on the route also?

Its all looking really good.

To be honest I thought when Saudi started it might be overkill but the reported loads seem fantastic along with Qatar seemingly literally getting off to a flyer and Emirates look to be able to more or less fill whatever they put on, add in Turkish with their double daily and Air India we are served unbelievablely well going East.

If only we could just get one comparable service going West.

It appears Saudi will continue with more 787-10 substitutions from the previously dates adding in Ocober 15th and 26th and then every Tuesday from November credit to jon01 posting elsewhere who has been spot on so far.

At this rate all 787-10 or increased frequency lies down the line 🤔

Increased frequency is a little too early to do, most likley it will become an all 78X route or the 777s step in.

In recent years, Saudia have not increased capacity to UK during Hajj. The airline is flat out at that time and charters in extra aircraft, specifically for flights to e.g. India, Indonesia, Pakistan. Pilgrims will not book flight only but have packages controlled by the Saudi government, normally with each country getting a specific allocation.

100% loading = at least 10% bumping with subsequent disruption (and actual negative income) for the airline. At this point the airline will deeply re analyse the route and, if it appears a longer term prospect, will look to either increasing frequency or capacity depending on its current and future capability. The decision will not necessarily be made regarding the primary route under consideration but with the data gleaned from the current and prospective financial performance of the company as a whole. In other words: this is quite a scientific process and decisions are not made lightly on short- term performance data.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
