Um not sure at present, agreed needed to be bought upto date but the yellow crane on tail is an institution
but the Euro White hasn`t been addressed

So, here we go.

"Generic" is the first word that comes to mind, but at least they avoided Iberia's mistake and kept their logo...

Very plain. Didn't the crane used to be yellow?

Indeed. When they announced their forthcoming new business class seat for the 777X the logo there was entirely silver so this would seem to fit.

So we've seen Air France, KLM and now Lufthansa all make subtle adjustments to their livery, and Iberia go for a complete redesign. Whose next?

BA maybe? Any idea when the last time they had a livery redesign?

BA's currently livery was originally meant to be just for Concorde but ended up being used as the 'new' livery after the poor reception to the 'world tails' around 1999, so its now approaching 20 years old.

You have to ask though are they just changing it just for the sake of changing it.

Air France waste of time, Lufthansa a bit better but still lacking and KLM an improvement
SAS please next. BA, Iberia, TAP, Aegean and Virgin are all nice clean schemes

The crane used to be blue, with the circle yellow -

The above (my photo), seems to show the start of the drift to the bland livery depicted on the 747-8.

I find the older scheme (again, my photo) much smarter and pleasing on the eye -

I think that the new Lufthansa scheme is o.k. but not much more.
As far as BA I think the current scheme is one of the best around so leave it as it is. Wasn't it called the Trafalgar Flag originally when applied to Concord or am I making that up?

Apparently its going to take 8 years to paint the entire fleet, so the existing livery will be around for a while longer at least.

As far as BA I think the current scheme is one of the best around so leave it as it is.

Agreed (y)

I don't normally care what a plane looks like too much (although Air New Zealand looks sleek in all black and KLM stand out in blue especially on a 747!) but Lufthansa have gone very boring and bland with that new look.
The business interior seems very 'corporate' and bland too, so nail on the head there I guess

I think the new Etihad look is great, I really like the geometric shapes on the tail.

Wouldn't be surprised if BA tweak theirs soon, lots of empty space.

I can imagine IAG dreaming up a group livery incorporating elements of the airlines but also retaining a number in company schemes. Similar to Star Alliance and One World.

Perhaps BA could go with the Landor scheme but on an unpainted fuselage just like American used to be. Maybe go special on the A380s.

Lufthansa and Aer Lingus are both simple and elegant whilst others go bonkers. The new A380 of ANA an example!

Again, my views only but open to discussion.

Please don`t change BAs colours they are so British, it stands out amongst all the the rest, Landor was a great scheme but dated now

I accept your opinion Mullion and agree that it is a head turner amongst the dross but I believe our flag airline can do better. The centenary TV advert is a missed opportunity to refresh.

The memory of the mixed tail fins remains fresh and the chap that decided upon the Chatham flag to become the global identity should be thanked for saving the image of British Airways,

I just feel the time is right to refresh and renew by incorporating the best of the past with the current.

KLM incorporate a basic image of a crown but has modified it's basic blue and white colouring, it remains familiar to most as KLM. This is what I am driving at. At least we shall have reminders of the past with the BOAC and other repaints.

When you look at the stuff thats out now days like Lufthansa, Air France, Aer Lingus, SAS, Iberia to a lesser extent
all bland, I do like the new darker blue and new nose style on KLM. my two favourites are BA and Thomas Cook

Many off the airlines that are currently changing their liveries did so because their designs were becoming dated (Iberia, Aer Lingus and American spring to mind).

Despite being designed 20 years ago, the BA livery doesn't look dated at all IMO and doesn't need to be changed.

As for the various IAG airlines, I really hope they don't all end up having the same livery. Although BA, Iberia, Aer Lingus & Vueling are part of the same group, they are still their own airlines with their own brand. Having a common livery would take that away.

Perhaps a "Part of the IAG Group" or "An IAG Airline" below the small Oneworld logo by the front door of the aircraft may be suitable, but IMO nothing more.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
