I didn’t know cityjet had 1000’s … does anyone know the schedule for Munich as im hoping to use it in the spring & there have been many cancellations recently, I know DLH have been having staff issues

Great aircraft to fly on. Flown on many of AA's CRJ'9s and enjoyed every one. Tough as old boots! Particularly remember a flight from Dallas to Rapid City and being seriously chucked about in a storm. Great add for BHX...nice bit of variety :)

Fewer Luftansa passengers through Birmingham

German airline Lufthansa had its wings clipped last year with a dip in passenger numbers flying to and from Birmingham.

The company reported a drop of 1.2 per cent in the number of people it carried through Birmingham International Airport for 2008, down to 411,578 from 416,649 the year before.

But bosses at the global airline called the performance “excellent” as it came against a backdrop of shrinking demand for flights throughout the world.

Lufthansa general manager for the UK and Ireland Marianne Sammann said: “They are very positive against the overall trend in the market.”

She said the airline had put in an especially strong performance for passenger numbers on its Asia Pacific routes, which nearly doubled last year.

But Lufthansa’s drop in passenger figures last year contrasts sharply with the overall number of people taking flights from Birmingham International Airport in 2008.

Last year the airport reported record passenger numbers - an increase of 4.2 per cent over 2007 figures. But Ms Sammann said the figures did not reflect badly on Lufthansa – it was likely most of the growth seen by Birmingham was down to low-cost carriers, not airlines like Lufthansa.

Hard to know what's happening with the LH group, as they funnel passengers through their different hubs/airlines at different times through the year.

However Munich also sees a downgrade as services twice a week throughout summer season are to be on the new Cityjet CRJ1000s on Tues and Sat.
Which is a big drop on capacity from the previously planned mostly 319/320s ! ☹️

reported by @SPD_travels on "X":-

Lufthansa have made some reductions on its Frankfurt-UK flights in Jan/Feb.

Belfast goes to 3 weekly
Birmingham goes to 14 weekly
Edinburgh goes to 12 weekly
Liverpool goes to 1 weekly
Manchester goes to 26 weekly
Newcastle goes to as little as 2 weekly.

so a big reduction for Birmingham from the usual 28 flights a week, although they do normally reduced flights down to 21 flights a week during Jan/Feb, so nows its basically 2 daily

Does anyone know why the 13.00 to Frankfurt was cancelled today? A full load had to depart from Heathrow after much delay, messing up the plans of a number of football fans.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
