Who remembers a few years back before we had easy and wizz at LBA, it was B737-800 central!LBA certainly is a 738 magnet these days. Pulls them in from all corners!!
Thanks. Just been walking up there and saw the Enter Air was parked up on the Eastern Apron - never a good sign especially when it should have left hours ago. I was going to ask but no need now!Enter Air Boeing 737-800, SP-ESA looks to have gone tech at LBA this morning after its 2 day night stop.
Boeing 737-800, SP-ESH is due to position in from Prague at 13:30 as “ENT001F” to operate the delayed outbound “ENT3165” to Enontekio
Could of been planned like this for a long time, AC could be full who knows.Eastern E170 scheduled to operate tomorrow mornings LBA-AMS rotation on behalf of KL. Poor loads presumably. Meanwhile, NCL is serviced by E190s/E295s and 737s.
Plenty of the morning weekday flights operated by KLM are also E170s so it's nothing really unusual but as I've posted elsewhere, on some routes, loads do tend to drop off just prior to Christmas as if people are visiting relatives and friends they want to be there at Christmas.Eastern E170 scheduled to operate tomorrow mornings LBA-AMS rotation on behalf of KL. I wonder why this drop off doesn't occur at NCL?Plenty of the morning weekday flights operated by KLM are also E170s so it's nothing really unusual but as I've posted elsewhere, on some routes, loads do tend to drop off just prior to Christmas as if people are visiting relatives and friends they want to be there at Christmas.
Are you counting loads? How do you know it doesn't? NCL has always had a bigger KLM operation that LBA so for them a reduced load might equate to a 737 replaced by an E190-2. Much as we'd like to match up to NCL, we can't yet. NCL was ahead of us even in the 70s when they had Tridents of BKS/Northeast whilst we had Viscounts. They've never had our short runway issues, and don't have another airport of any size within 90 miles, the nearest being Edinburgh. You can't compare LBA with NCL as they've had years' start over LBA. We are playing catch up and constantly hampered by the presence of MAN.I wonder why this drop off doesn't occur at NCL?
No doubt about the seat prices, but they are very much dictated by supply and demand. Competition on a route or greater capacity brings down prices. Lower prices bring more passengers which in turn increases demand and capacity.I agree, the MAN presence is a factor but I still feel LBA is punching below it's weight. Relatively high seat prices has been suggested before as a possible issue. It would be extremely interesting to see the effect of U2 operating the route ex EGNM.
The Enter Air Boeing 737-800, SP-ESA which went tech yesterday is due to position out to Warsaw at 12:45 as “ENT003F”

BHX/BRS/MAN all see the E170. Wouldn’t look too much into itNo doubt about the seat prices, but they are very much dictated by supply and demand. Competition on a route or greater capacity brings down prices. Lower prices bring more passengers which in turn increases demand and capacity.
I'm sure if easyJet did AMS out of LBA it would change things overnight as it did in the past when AMS was served by Jet2. It's making that leap but in the case of AMS, it doesn't help that airport has its own issues with capacity. That in itself might lead airlines to think long and hard before commencing new routes to there.
