Just out of interest, what's the load like? Doesn't look too full unless all the empty seats have kids in them.

Had about 150x pax onboard. Like you say the were a lot of empty seats near to the back end of the aircraft

Yeah 7.5 hours via Germany instead of a non stop 4.5 hour flight. And to top it off we had a tour of Yorkshire after doing 3 circuits in the LBA overhead hold

Feeling very tired and no too happy to be honest, I know it’s not the airlines fault but felt very sorry for the crew.

Welcome home @lbaspotter and I'm sure you will be glad to be home after yesterday's journey. I think in all honesty you were quite lucky really. I did half expect you just to end up in Manchester or East Midlands. As you will be aware, many flights were also cancelled so fair play to Sun Express for the way they handled the situation.

Looks like Jet2 Boeing 757-200, G-LSAI is taking up residence again as it’s now booked to operate tonight’s delayed LS289/290 Palma rotation.

Meanwhile Boeing 737-800, G-GDFY will position out to Birmingham at 23:45 as “EXS018P”

Looks like Jet2 Boeing 757-200, G-LSAI is taking up residence again as it’s now booked to operate tonight’s delayed LS289/290 Palma rotation.

Meanwhile Boeing 737-800, G-GDFY will position out to Birmingham at 23:45 as “EXS018P”

I am surprised the airport will allow a non essential take-off so late at night.

Needed for the 06.45 flight on Sunday from BHX to FAO so as far as Jet2 are concerned it would be seen as an essential positioning flight.

I understand its commercially important but in the past the airport hasnt always allowed positioning flights in the quota period.

I would think that after this weeks’ LBA issues and Jet2’s seeminingly on-going operational difficulties I am sure LBA were very willing to do anything to assist their biggest operator
