Turkish for August was 22158 so quite a big lead over Pegasus but a lot more flights
I can see expansion from both, just one thing Turkish have announced the 4th daily ex MAN
and it is a night stopper so something for the future maybe ex BHX

Turkish start their 18 weekly service on the 10th June.Believe this earlier then last year

Matt take it there was an increase in flights from August to how many?

yes Mullion, for 2024, flights and seats available were:-

January, 28 flights, 6480 seats
February, 26 flights, 5884 seats
March, 26 flights, 6108 seats
April, 26 flights, 5296 seats
May, 26 flights, 6214 seats
June, 28 flights, 5568 seats
July, 26 flights, 5196 seats
August, 44 flights, 8784 seats

Comparing the loads between Turkish and Pegasus must be interesting.
Would of liked to see Turkish return Antalya route but I’m happy with what we’ve got

estimated load factor for Istanbul (IST):-

January 81%, 18,418 passengers
February 86%, 18,114 passengers
March 83%, 18,575 passengers
April 83%, 17.734 passengers
May 81%, 18,020 passengers
June 81%, 19,540 passengers
July 89%, 21,346 passengers
August 80%, 22,158 passengers

Thanks Ray. I expected Pegasus to take away from Turkish but that hasn`t been the case at either
BHX or MAN and infact Turkish have just announced an extra at MAN next summer upto 4 daily including a night stopper so who knows what will happen at BHX

Great to see it finally announced :)

Hopefully we'll see an increase to SAW in due course.

Has any other destination been served by six carriers before?

I think in 2017 we had Monarch, Jet2, Ryanair, Norwegian, Vueling, TUi and/or BACF on one or two holiday routes, didn't last long though 😬

Has any other destination been served by six carriers before?

the key charter destinations back in the 1990s often had plenty of airlines on some routes, take Palma in Summer 1994, I have 11 airlines listed as operating flights that summer:-

can anyone name all 11 of these airlines, without cheating on google!!! :ROFLMAO:

Sabre is the only one I can think of that operated 727s

British World might be the BAC 1-11?

Oasis and/or Spanair?

Viva Air?

No Monarch in 94? That’s surprising

AEA - Air Europa
AIH - Airtours International
AMM - Air 2000
AMY - Ambassador Airways
BA - British Airways

CNA - Centennial Airlines (Spain)
LEI - Air UK Leisure (renamed Leisure International Airways in 1996)

Monarch in 1994, had no based aircraft at BHX, only flights were a Wednesday Salzburg on a A320, and a late night weekend charter to Orlando via Bangor on a 757!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
