Isn't Jet2 on record fairly recently, announcing the Bournemouth base and adding there would be no further bases? If that is still so, then no Gatwick. I'd like to see Jet2 get rid of the 733s now, once and for all and improve the ground support vehicle maintenance and baggage handler complement. In other words, work on what there is before overstretching.

And probably the only way TUI ever get a huge presence at LBA. Maybe a way for the DSA supporters to finally get Jet2. Joking aside, can't really see this being the announcement - but you never know!

Fair point @Bigman but TUI are a Boeing operator so not really much synergy/logic in that so think this is another one wide of the mark. Wonder if it all turns out to be a bit of an anticlimax when announced. Pug has hinted at something in the Jet2 general thread rather than the LBA one which didn't smack of what we mat determine as game-changing

And coincidentally Phil Meeson has sold some of his Jet2 shares!

My guess is Jet2 buying TUIs UK ops or merging with EasyJet who are looking to develop and expand their package tour business.

I thought Jet2 were a Boeing operator. I wasn't of course being too serious given I am out having a few jars in my local

Well if we want to put 2 and 2 together to make 5, easyJet are an Airbus operator and apparently (I do say apparently) there execs have been seen at LBA recently. Defo could be something in either of those you mention @Len Fish

Yes they are but they are moving away from Boeing. Perhaps time for home then lol

I only had 3. Any good news is welcome in whatever form it takes

Apparently MAN are publicising a Jet2 announcement on Thursday, so if it involves them, it has to be A330's long haul.
Just my thoughts.

PS I am flying with them Wednesday afternoon, I'll try and get some inside information. ;)

You’ll find nothing out on Wednesday Seasider!
We’re playing the guessing game just as much as you!

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. The news items can then be shared on the site homepage by you. #TakePart #Forums4airports Bring the news to one place!
survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
