2025 predictions for LBA

Re the 737-300, they may be old but they give flexibility and additional frequencies, that without them, we may not get say a double daily ALC, GVA or so many daily PMI. So they may need to go, but for the time being they serve a very valuable purpose.

New Routes.
Cape Verde/Hurghada/Azores from Jet2
Madrid, Lisbon, Berlin and any sun routes from Easyjet
4th Ryanair to allow for more variety of routes.
Istanbul by a Turkish carrier
Lufthansa to FRA or MUC

My realistic predictions:

Loganair - NQY, SOU, ABZ, LHR (would prefer BA on LHR).
easyJet - AMS, ALC
Jet2 - SSH, KLX, VCE, LIS
Ryanair - MJV, BGY, MXP
Sun Express - DLM
Turkish/Pegasus - IST (prefer TK)
Blue Island - JER year round.

I'd love Jet2 to do a low level flypast in January at LBA with the last remaining 757 after it departs Manchester on its final journey to the graveyard in the sky. It was the backbone of Jet2 for many years here at Leeds and helped them develop into the company they are today. The airframe will be sadly missed but like everything age catches up with us all at some point and all good things come to an end. Give us a chance Jet2 to say goodbye in style with a proper send off from the airlines home base.
