easyJet launches five new routes from Newcastle Airport

easyJet has announced new routes from Newcastle Airport to Barcelona, Berlin, Copenhagen, Hurghada and Rovaniemi.

Flights to Barcelona will take off on 25 October and depart twice a week on Fridays and Sundays, perfect for a long weekend to the buzzing Spanish city.

Flights to Hurghada will start on 27 October and depart on Tuesdays and Saturdays and with daily sunshine and low chance of rain throughout winter it’s the ideal escape from the northern chill!

easyJet’s new service to Copenhagen starts on 5 November and will operate on Thursdays and Sundays offering a convenient connection for a city break to Denmark’s capital.

Flights to Berlin start on 20 November and will operate on Mondays and Fridays, in time for visiting the city’s renowned Christmas markets.

Rovaniemi is the place to be for families to visit Lapland during the festive season and easyJet’s new route from Newcastle will launch on 25 November with flights on Wednesdays and Sundays.

Since launching its base at Newcastle Airport in March 2026, easyJet has quadrupled its Newcastle network bringing the total number of routes on sale to 31.

These new winter routes provides an even greater range of destinations whether travellers are looking for a cultural city break, winter sun or a Christmas adventure to Lapland.

easyJet holidays packages are available to book to Barcelona, Berlin, Copenhagen and Hurghada, inclusive of flights and hotel, plus 23kg luggage and transfers on Hurghada beach holidays.

Leon McQuaid, Director of Aviation Development at Newcastle Airport, said: “easyJet’s new winter routes and package holidays to Barcelona, Berlin, Copenhagen, Hurghada and Rovaniemi are fantastic additions to our growing network, offering even more choice for passengers.

“From festive city breaks and magical trips to Lapland to winter sun escapes, these destinations offer something for everyone and make it easier than ever to plan the perfect winter getaway direct from Newcastle Airport.

“easyJet’s continued growth, with 31 destinations now on sale since the opening of their base, underlines their strong commitment to both the Airport and wider North East region and we look forward to seeing these exciting new winter services take off later this year.”
