That's it. The date has been set... Join me as I fly one of Hawaiian Airlines most iconic aircraft, the Boeing 717, on a classic island-hopping flight from Kahului, Maui to Honolulu, Oahu, before it leaves the fleet.
For more than two decades, the Boeing 717 has been the backbone of Hawaiian’s inter-island network, perfectly suited to these incredibly short, high-frequency flights between the Hawaiian Islands. But its days are now numbered, with Hawaiian now preparing for a future without this increasingly rare aircraft.
In this video, I take you through the complete Hawaiian Airlines experience, from Kahului Airport to boarding the 717, exploring its cabin and seats, experiencing the onboard service and, of course, enjoying some spectacular Hawaiian views along the way.
With the Boeing 717 becoming an increasingly rare sight around the world, this was a flight I really wanted to experience while I still could.
