Extra weekly flight being added to girona - now daily next summer. A third Gdańsk also being added for April and May

Ah it’s that old chestnut - easyjet starts a route Ryanair joins it easyjet leaves the route then Ryanair loses interest leaving Bristol with no one flying the route. Need to be careful that doesn’t happen to Porto and Marseille now

Summary of Ryanair Routes from BRS in Summer 2023

I've compared Ryanair's schedule from BRS during the second week in August 2023 compared to the same week in 2022. Here are the number of departures each week with the changes highlighted.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Number of destinations operating per week:
2022: 32
2023: 33 [+1]
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Number of flights per week:
2022: 131
2023: 146 [+15]
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Number of based aircraft:
2022: 4 (B738)
2023: 5 (2x B38M / 3x B738) [+1]
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Summary
Out of these 146x departures a week, 101x departures will be use BRS based aircraft and 45x will use aircraft operating from 19x other RYR bases (meaning 69% of the departures each week use BRS based aircraft - the highest percentage since 2016).

Ryanair have been cutting a lot of winter routes and frequencies from UK airports!

Dublin looks like it’s been reduced to single daily some days, Knock off sale! Not sure if it’s any more

And yet flights still on sale including extra flights over Xmas. Also Gdańsk no longer flies between November and March.

Maybe it’s time to have a word with Wizz ..

Ryanair - Winter 23/24
Looking at a week in mid-November, the BRS base requires 5x aircraft to be based (2x 7M8 and 3x 738).
The number of aircraft required each day to operate the schedule is:
Mon (5) - 2x 7M8 / 3x 738
Tue (3) - 2x 7M8 / 1x 738
Wed (2) - 2x 7M8
Thu (3) - 2x 7M8 / 1x 738
Fri (5) - 2x 7M8 / 3x 738
Sat (5) - 2x 7M8 / 3x 738
Sun (5) - 2x 7M8 / 3x 738

Below is a table showing the difference in weekly departures between a week Nov-2019 and the same week in Nov-2023:

Summer 24 starting to be released. Some good increases - Alicante double daily plus Sofia becoming a year round route.

My plans got altered slightly as one of the minibus companies had to cancel 3 trips and refunded me but will be getting nice discount when I rebook them.
wondering why on my "holidays" I choose to get up 2 hours earlier than when going to work. 6 trips in 6 days soon coming up with 3 more days to sort out
