Ryanair has started to release next summers schedules . Some positives in the mix with an extra weekly Venice , extra flights to alicante and Palma plus castellon returns twice weekly but Valencia not yet released ( maybe castellon replacing Valencia)

Valencia seems to cease this month with the last flight on 13th. Castellon appears to be a direct replacement and begins on 16 September
.

I've had a quick look at the Ryanair booking engine for next summer and there appears to be some omissions compared with this and recent summers.

Bergerac and Ibiza aren't shown as bookable.

Beziers is 3 x weekly all summer whereas this year it was 4 or 5 x weekly in peak summer.

Faro was 12 x weekly in August 2015. It's down to daily next August.

Some other routes that had enhancements in August this year haven't got them for next August at the moment.

Unless there is more to come this will continue Ryanair's stagnation at BRS over the past few years. The remarks of Kenny Jacobs (senior Ryanair official) made a few months ago that they want to become bigger than easyJet at BRS seem somewhat hollow at the moment.

Ryanair now seems much more reliable in its early timetable versions than was once the case. It would often go though several versions, discarding and adding routes along the way, so I never bothered to even look until just before a season started.

Just dates released or are they bookable too. Cant seem to book Bologna for July yet. App says no flights for next 6 months.

I took the details of my previous post from the booking engine. I didn't follow any through with dummy bookings though.

The Ryanair web timetable is still blank for next summer. I find that the easiest way to see all the scheduled flights month by month per route.

It may be that the whole thing is still a work in progress. Probably best to leave it for a week or two and then look again.

I'm pretty sure that the extra flights for august were added much later in the schedule last year as I think was Ibiza whilst reus was in the early schedule then dropped. I guess it's early day plus ryanair like to have some press release at some point so perhaps we might see something then.

That's certainly entirely possible. You're right about extra flights being added later on for August (not in every case). Beziers, for example, was originally 4 x weekly for August this year but was later increased to 5 x weekly. In fact, this year is not the first time that this route has been increased to 5 weekly flights in August, although at the moment it's only shown as 3 x weekly for the whole of summer 2016.

Krakow is operated by easyJet from BRS. Perhaps Ryanair thinks that easyJet is a more brittle nut than Wizz although I doubt that they do.

easyJet operates Krakow up to 4 x weekly - it was daily some years ago - so the apparent 3 x weekly of Ryanair will return the route to 7 x weekly, albeit Ryanair is flying on the same days as easyJet (M, W and F) with the latter also on Sun.

This does seem an odd choice given easyJet's position on the route. With Ryanair apparently dropping Ibiza and Bergerac next summer it might have been hoped that some new routes would have been found.

Ryanair website appear to adding a lot more frequencies for summer 2016 . Ibiza is back too

Summer 2016

http://www.bristolpost.co.uk/Dog-owners ... story.html

The attached newspaper article leads on Ryanair looking at the possibility of carrying pet dogs in future but this actually obscures the real message of the article which is to announce Ryanair's summer 2016 season at BRS.

Nothing to get excited about as it's really robbing Peter to pay Paul. There is confirmation of additional rotations to Alicante and Treviso in peak summer with news of the previously announced Krakow that goes head to head with easyJet, although of course Ryanair doesn't draw attention to this and the local rag wouldn't know as it merely reproduces press releases from organisations.

The article also mentions Reus (this one seems to come and go and was dropped for summer 2015) at 2 x weekly but there is nothing in either the timetable section or the booking section of the Ryanair website at the moment.

Looking at the booking engine Bergerac is still showing no flights for the entire summer 2016 but there might be some hope for Ibiza as Monday, Wednesday and Friday (the days of operation of previous summers including this year) now shows 'sold out' on these days through next summer. Maybe work is now being done on the booking engine.

Overall though there is little real change in terms of numbers of flights and things remain largely static in this regard as they have done over recent summers and winters.

The remarks made earlier this year by Kenny Jacobs, senior Ryanair executive, that they want to become bigger than easyJet at BRS seem very hollow unless they think that easyJet will implode.

Similar press release on ryanairs website now too. Bergerac seems to be available July and august.

There was all this talk of flights to Germany and Scandinavia. I wonder what happened to these

Thanks for that. I only checked June for Bergerac.

It may be then that July and especially August will see a few more rotations overall than summer 2015 although I note that Faro seems to be reduced from 12 weekly in August this year to 10 weekly next August. With easyJet's even bigger programme to FAO it may be that there was an element of overkill this summer, especially with Thomas Cook deciding to replace one of its Enfidhas with FAO after the terrible events in Tunisia.

Reus and Krakow have been confirmed as new summer routes.

Krakow is in the booking engine for the summer at 3 x weekly. Reus doesn't appear in the drop-down yet.

Bergerac is now bookable at 3 x weekly but for July, August and September only - at least that's better than being axed. Ibiza is also now in the booking engine for the summer at its usual 3 x weekly.

Reus will be 2 weekly, it's announced on the Ryanair website 'news' section, under the headline 'Bristol summer 2016 schedule released'.

Yes, thanks for that, kraktoa and User001. I read in their news blurb that Ryanair were going to re-introduce Reus ('new route' in their terminology) and in the local press copy of it.

I was just making the point that it has not been put into the booking engine yet. It's not in the drop-down BRS routes menu either and when I tried typing in Reus Barcelona as a destination I kept receiving the reply that I hadn't typed in a destination airport.

Ibiza and Bergerac have only appeared in the summer 2016 booking engine over the couple of days (with thoughts in some quarters, including mine, that they were going to be dropped) so it seems that Reus is going to be an even later entrant into the booking engine.

That said, it was only a few years ago that Ryanair's initial summer programme wasn't published until late the previous year and was invariably followed by several significantly revised versions.

With the re-appearance of Reus (axed after summer 2014) and the introduction of Krakow to compete with easyJet there should be 29 routes in summer 2016 which is two more than summer 2015.

Will reus be put on sale for next summer. Seems strange not to be on sale

Plenty of time for it to appear I suppose but given that Ryanair made a big thing of the BRS summer 2016 programme announcement (as it did with its other UK airports as their programmes were announced) and specifically mentioned that Reus would be flown next summer, it seems strange that Reus doesn't appear.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
