LHR figures are as expected and reasonable imo.

As WH points out, sectors 1 & 8 are a drag and is there a worse launch date than Dec 11th?

Every week they improve, today is a record day (most sectors in 50-80 bracket) by a considerable margin (up 100 on last Wed fwiw) and we are yet to see the benefit of the pre-Xmas sales drive.

3 well timed flights in S13 (the timings are shortly to be announced and are different to those previously published) and some further good news to come gives me reason to believe that this route, whilst not pulling any trees up maybe, remains on track or maybe i am just an eternal optimist!

A night-stopper will not happen before W13 at the very earliest but i believe the revised S13 offering will leave only 1 dead sector.

Good point LBA787 (you might want to ditch the 787 bit the way they are performing this month).

Ha ha dam lithium batteries! I knew boeing should have just packed a million duracell AA's into the tail cone!!

I also forgot to mention some notable increases such as;-

Tenerife - up 45% to 9540
Glasgow up 42% to 736
Malta up 39% to 2675
Riga up 39% to 2688
Belfast City up 27% to 8472 - surely must be time for ER195's on this route

Some nice figures there. I expect the 195's would only be seen if jet2 dropped BFS.

Thanks for the info Ridgeback. Mods might want to move recent responses to the BA section so I apologise in advance for posting in this section. :whiteflag:

So are the S13 BA rotations undergoing yet another change in timings? Fingers crossed for an earlier rotation to LHR so European cities are better served with a more favourable arrival time into BCN / OSL etc. Also you mention some more good news? Care to divulge further?

Flying down to LHR next weekend so will let you all know what the numbers were like. Also, do BA have self-sevice kiosks in the checkin hall at LBA.

Good point LBA787 (you might want to ditch the 787 bit the way they are performing this month). There are no 2012 figures shown for Bristol, but I am sure you are right. No figures yet for Aldergrove either.

Just a quick note on Belfast City. Firstly, does the 27% increase nullify the drop on the flights to International? I ask this as I was under the impression that the Leeds - Belfast sector as a whole has been in gradual decline for a while. As a quick reckoning, the figures would suggest that each Dash 8 was 2/3 full (obviously this is a very rough calculation and won't necessarily reflect the reality). With that in mind, is an E-Jet really a good idea for this route? I suspect actual passenger increase on this route will not be that much this year and (with current problems in Belfast) may even dip slightly. I do not think upgrade to a larger, more expensive aircraft is a financially sound option. I would have thought the current aircraft and the current load factor are just about right, with still a little space for an increase in numbers. Of course, summer loads are a different matter.

Does anybody know the top 20 Busiest Routes to and from Leeds Bradford Airport for 2012, the Wikipedia page hasn't been updated and I am just curious to see which routes have increased or decreased, thanks.

Hello and Welcome to 2013 passenger figure guessing game. Yes you've guessed it (pardon the pun) i think its about time this forum had a bit of fun, and with our airport having new flights this year with 3 new aircraft based here, a new service to London, and Jet2's continued development from this base (a massive increase to turkey, palma, alicante and malaga all getting 3 daily flights peak times once or twice a week) aswell as winter time, it's time to guess which MAGIC figure we will get in Jan 2014.

So - my figure. Rules - if you guess a stupid figure like 3,567,889 the 889 will be rounded up to nearest thousand (68). If we have like a 3,590,000 and 3,600,000 if the figure is above the nearest 5,0000 the person guessing the higher value will win, same for below.

I think 3,600,000 will use this airport throughout the year of 2013. Enjoy guys :D

LUFC Jonno - 3,370,000

Channex 757 - 3,400,000
Xboy999 - 3,410,000
Seasider - 3,425,000
a300boy - 3,450,000
Aviador - 3,450,000
Ap1995 - 3,500,000
48vannam - 3,575,000
Nicholas1992 - 3,600,000
leedsman - 3,650,000
Moo2009 - 4,000,000

When Ryanair opened a base we lost a good number of flights the same year so we didn't get to see any major jumps in passenger numbers. I think we will see bigger percentage gains this time around so I'm going with 3,450,000

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
