The CAA stats for this summer are going to be very interesting it seems

CWL stated on 19 July that over 318,000 people will be using the airport over the 6 week period end of July-beginning of September.
In order for those figures to be realised, August needs to far exceed its 2018 figures and double the rolling year percentage of 8%.

A crude breakdown of the 318,000 over 6 weeks is 7,571 a day

July 2019 crude breakdown averaged a daily passenger figure of just over 6,700, (would assume the last 10 days of July would be greater than this) 900 below the daily average figure for the 6 week period.

August 2018 saw 202,600 passengers - daily average of 6,535 passengers.
1,036 lower than this years 6 week summer average.

As i said above, this is a crude assessment, but if the figure of 318,000 is accurate, then August 2019 should be around 16% higher or a 32,000 increase in passengers numbers compared to August 2018 reaching 234,701 in August 2019.

Theres no way the Airport will be able to tell 318,000 will be using the airport, as bookings will still be taken after the press release. It's probably 318,000 seats available. Whether all of those seats will be taken is a different matter. Its all media spin really.

This is only a rough calculation but if August has the same growth as July 8.4% then that means the monthly figure should be around 219,000 passengers for the month, add that to half of July's figure and it should be around 323,000 for the 6 week period so the 318,000 might be accurate. I'll admit this is only a rough calculation.

For June 2019 the Belfast City route saw 5738 passengers use the route down 1% on 2018.

Today the CAA has published its airport and route passenger stats for July and CWL is included in the first batch.

I'll leave Jerry to dig into the details. Suffice to say it's a postive gain in overall passenger numbers again with Qatar showing a decent little rise over July 2018.

CAA Stats July 2019
The airport saw 208,044 passengers use it in July up 8.3% on 2018. The rolling year was 1,645,979 up 7.7% on 2018.
Atms for July was 1839 up 3.1% on 2018. 165 tonnes of freight went through the airport.

Some good figures there. The holidays routes that have had extra frequencies from TUI appear to be doing well.

FR LF figures: MLA 92%, BCN 90%, TFS 98%
FR have provided 5292 extra seats to AGP, with only a rise of 4610 overall.

DOH is better but still only 68% LF.

To summarise collectively with correction to TFS:
BCN = 90%
(Note there were 211 charter passengers which shouldn't be included. I think these were from a TCX diversion en route back to CWL)
MLA = 92%
TFS = 94%

An average LF for the above 3 routes of 92%

Also Tenerife is no longer on sale in 2020 with last flight on 6th January. The same with Newcastle, the only other route that doesn't have a UK base, last flight 5th January.

Vueling LF's (assuming 180 seats A320's)
ALC = 92%
PMI = 89%

AGP - FR operates 3 weekly (Mon, Wed, Fri) Seats 5292
- VY operated 5 weekly (Mon-Thu & Sat) Seats 8280
Total seats available 13572 / Passengers 11678 - Average LF 86%

I think that's about 6.5% better then August last year, and the CEO said that September is also looking good, it's nice to hear more good this week for the second time.

CAA Stats for August 2019
216,530 passengers used the airport up 7% on 2018. The rolling year was 1,660,104 up 7.2%. Atms were 1812 up 1%

Very good figures there for the most part.

Jerry - have you got a PDF version of International Passengers Route Analysis table (12.1)? All I can find is another version where reading the figures almost leads to a headache. The same thing happened in July.

All other tables have a PDF version as did table 12.1 until July.

Only an excel spreadsheet was available for that for some unknown reason.

Thanks. It's horrible. Since my previous post I notice that someone on the DP is complaining about the Excel-only table in 12.1.

CAA stats are out for September but at the moment for the overall figures I can only find the terminal and transit stats and not the one with the rolling year.

So 188,359 passengers used the airport up 5% on September 2018.

Doha was 9030 up 1% and Amsterdam was 13,982 up 16% on 2018.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
