Ibiza goes 4 weekly and Malaga also has extra flights

There have been extra flights added across the board, with August seeing extra flights to OLB, IBZ, VCE, PMI, AMS, AGP since the last schedule update.

Comparing this summer to last, May sees around 15 extra flights per week than last year.
From June to mid-August there are roughly 22-24 extra flights per week than the same week last year.
This goes up to 34 extra flights per week for a few weeks at the end of August.
September and October sees around 27 extra flights per week than last year.

Looking at the beginning of August 18 in comparison to August 17, there will be:
3x extra flights a week to NCL
2x extra flights a week to PMI, SXF, VCE, PRG, PSA and new routes ARN, ATH, GOA, SVQ.
1x extra flight a week to AGP, AMS, TFS, CPH, BIO, NCE, IBZ, PUY
-2x flights less a week to MJV and GVA
-1x flight a week to RAK (does not operate in 2018)

Bizarrely paphos still operates 4 weekly for 2 weeks only as does Bordeaux daily which suggests that there is still gaps to fill

With the Newcastle flights it looks like they've added evening flights and not morning flights. When i was originally looking at a weekend trip for Easter i looked at flying direct to Newcastle with Easyjet as I've never used them before and haven't used Bristol for a long time. The only flight on Thursdays was at 13.00, the lack of a morning flight put me off instantly so I choose to EDI flight from CWL and decided to drive down. Kinda glad I did now! I wonder how many passengers they lose off that route by not having a morning flight except on Mondays i believe.

This has been an ongoing situation for years for Newcastle which at one point was four times a day. However it's nice to see Day returns available on both Mondays and Fridays. It's a little improvement to something that promises a lot more

Last year, there were 11 flights per week to NCL from mid-April 2017 through to the end of October 2017.
This year there will be 14 flights per week in March, April and the first half of May 2018.
It dips to 12/13 flights per week around the end of May/beginning of June and then up to 15 until the end of June.
It then stays at 14 flights per week from the end of June through to the beginning of September. From September it rises to 15 which continues until the end of October.
I've counted that this year on the BRS-NCL route, there will be over 100 more flights from Jan-Oct than there was over the same period in 2017.
I'm sure easyJet know this route very well by now, and given the majority of flights are in the afternoons/evenings they must know that this is when most travellers require to travel.

This is the departure times from BRS-NCL during the March-May period this year.
Mon: 07:00 / 14:30 / 19:50
Tue: 19:50
Wed: 16:40 / 19:50
Thu: 13:15 /19:50
Fri: 13:10 / 19:50
Sat: 08:35
Sun 13:15 / 16:40 / 20:05
From July the 14:30 Monday stops and instead there is a 07:00 Friday departure.
From mid-August the 16:40 Wednesday flight becomes a 07:00 departure until September.
From September the departure times from BRS-NCL are the same as above (in April), with an added 07:00 Friday flight.

As a comparison I've looked at their other domestic routes and Monday to Saturday Edinburgh has a morning departure around 7 am. Glasgow has a morning departure around 7 am Monday to Thursday. Belfast has a morning departure around 7 am Monday to Thursday and Saturday. I looked at a week in June. I'm surprised that neither Belfast or Glasgow doesn't have a morning flight on a Friday as I'd have thought a morning departure would make those days more business friendly for those routes .

Personally I have always avoided a day return business trip on the last day of the working week wherever I am in the world. Would have thought week enders probably put in an appearance at work on a Friday morning otherwise they'll fly on a Thursday evening?

I take it you mean the second addition to the base this summer (aircraft number 16). Aircraft number 15 seems to be needed earlier in the summer.

Not quite as bad as NCL (mentioned earlier in this discussion) where for a number of years only Monday permitted a day trip and a relatively curtailed one at that, albeit it's slightly improved this year for part of the forthcoming summer. There have been quite animated discussion about this situation on the Dried Fruit in recent months.

The lack of a Friday morning rotation for GLA and BFS has been around for a few years too.

As Severn pointed out earlier today, easyJet will know what it's doing even though it does seem strange at times to some of us watchers.

There appears that there will be 10 xa320 and 6 x a319s based during peak summer. Loads of gaps to fill throughout the week though.

It was 7 and 7 in 2017 wasn't it? Two more based aircraft plus three 319s being replaced by 320s is a big increase in available seats.

Yes it certainly seems that way . It looks like most of brs growth this year will come from easyJet and tui. I wonder what will fill easys gaps throughout the week ?

Certainly looks that way with easyJet and TUI, although TCX is also helping out with the third based aircraft.

Assuming that Brexit doesn't throw the entire industry into chaos 2019 might be interesting. There could be more aircraft stands by then. There will be one additional one for this summer of course - currently being built.

Athens and Stockholm outbounds tomorrow both shown as sold out. I know it's half term week but Athens in particular seems to be getting good loads with several sell-outs in recent weeks, so it's a promising start for these new routes that began in the autumn.

ive just had a few days in Bilbao with easyJet and flights both ways were completely full which is a good sign especially in February

EDI isn't dropping all its 5 x daily days this peak summer (late July to early September) as it usually does - as has already been pointed out in earlier posts. I feel that on some days it could go even higher in frequency for much of the year - especially Fridays and Sundays (currently 5 x daily and 4 x daily respectively).

Looking at the north bounds for the next few days shows tomorrow 2/4 are sold out, on Friday 5/5 sold out, on Saturday 1/1 sold out, on Sunday 3/4 sold out. South bounds not quite so well sold yet: Thursday none of the 4 rotations sold out, Friday 1/5 sold out, Saturday still room on the single rotation, Sunday 4/4 sold out.

I wonder how many people are now unable to book on Friday and Sunday. I guess there might be an element of overbooking on a route like this but there are still likely to be people who can't travel on a particular day, some of whom will no doubt have to look elsewhere.

This is the sort of route that will need to grow even more to accommodate BRS's projected overall passenger numbers in the future if current airlines are to be the main drivers of the airport's passenger growth.

I think it's entirely feasible for 5 a day mon to fri , 2 on sat and 4or 5 on Sundays to be honest. I also think extra frequencies to Glasgow may help too
