Peak-summer 2021

Looking at a Monday in peak-summer 2021, the BRS base currently requires 17x aircraft for the schedule:
4x A319
12x A320
1x A321

Only one gap in the schedule on a Monday with the A321 not being utilised until 11:15. Shorter flights (domestic, AMS & CDG) are already scheduled on A319/20 so not sure whether this gap on the A321 will be filled or not.

On a Monday, there are also 6x flights operated from other easyJet bases rather than using a BRS based aircraft. Two of these flights then operate out to another destination before returning to BRS and then back to their origin:
EDI (1 of 5)
FAO (1 of 2)
LYS
NCE
TLS
- Operates TLS-BRS-BSL-BRS-TLS
AGP (1 of 2) - Operates AGP-BRS-AMS-BRS-AGP

That's 8x flights on a Monday operated by non-BRS based aircraft which would require at least 2x extra based aircraft at BRS if these were not operated from other bases.

There is plans for two a321s to be used at least on selected days. The schedule for august points to two based on sundays ( Rhodes , palma , athens ) and Fridays ( Tenerife , Madrid , palma and Glasgow ). The schedules don’t look complete to me and there is suggestions more are to be released yet

Malta would be good route. Ryanair seem to have dropped Malta so no Malta from BRS this year unless Easyjet takes on the route. It would be a shame no Malta as its run from BRS for many years, and it was a popular route. In the past Air Malta,Thomas Cook and Britania has operated this route.

I see easyjet are operating a scheduled flight to Glasgow this afternoon, has this route been reinstated on a regular basis
It’s operating 3 times a week, only recently started to join BFS and EDI.
Just to add to alphgolf's response, GLA resumed on 12 February. It's shown as increasing to 4 x weekly in April then daily (13 x weekly) from 1 May. Currently returning to its normal schedule at 26 x weekly in early June, but that's subject to the speed of the pandemic recovery of course.

Summer 22 on sale.
Lets hope there is a Malta in there.
No Malta yet sadly. Surprisingly no Mykonos either yet.
easyJet has never operated Malta from BRS. The only UK airports the airline serves from Malta are Gatwick and Manchester.

If Ryanair really has relegated BRS/MLA to winter-only the alternatives for a summer route seem to be easyJet and Jet2, with the latter serving five of its UK airports in summer. TUI doesn't seem to serve Malta at all (from anywhere) at the moment.

I don't understand Ryanair's thinking on BRS-MLA. From increasing the route in summer 2021 to 4 x weekly they then remove it from the booking engine until the coming winter. They are showing booking availability for nine of their eleven UK-Malta routes for the coming summer, with BRS and BFS still the only UK airports in the MLA dropdown with nothing.

I'd say it's almost unthinkable that not one airline will operate the MLA route in summer 2022 yet that appears to be the case for summer 2021.

Mykonos is showing a single weekly return flight in summer 2021 from the end of May. The other easyJet UK-Mykonos airports - Gatwick, Manchester and Luton - have availability for summer 2022. Perhaps Mykonos will turn out to be a one-season route to be consigned to BRS history until someone else, or easyJet themselves, try it again in a few years from now.

At the minute though Toulouse , Basel and most of the nice schedule is not on sale either for 2022. They all appeared later so I guess Mykonos will as well.

I wonder why they do this. Toulouse and Nice have been operated by easyJet from BRS for most of the time that the airline has been a the airport - the best part of 20 years. Basel has been around for several years too.

I wonder if airlines do this to destinations to see how much reaction there is from the passenger side. It makes you think also if the covid 19 has anything to do with destinations.

Appears to be a lot of reductions for the month of august only. Minorca ,palma , Lisbon , edi and gla are just some.

The way things are going with Westminster saying there might not be any foreign this year and the amount of foreign holidays booked for this year makes a mockery of their statement. If the foreign holidays do get cancelled i would not want to be a airline as it will be a night mare sorting out all the bookings.

My argument is that those in Westminster and the scientists themselves should all just keep there mouths shut and not say a word. We have a task force set up which includes industry experts, CEO's, Directors from all aviation fields and includes those in the civil service. They should be the ones who are doing the fore warning etc. I would rather wait for the 12th April to see what the task force say.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
