I may have to eat my hat everyone:

Planned (going back few week ago) timetable:
12 rotations a week - 2,268 seats
26 week operation - 58,968 seats

Remove the W patterns and add 2 new flights:
2 extra at 26 week operation equates to 9828.

Adding in the 757 on the 232 option:
That equates to an extra 16,000 seats.

I personally think the Sunday afternoon PMI will go to Air Europa. If the Fri morning CFU has gone maybe this could be a weekly NAP flight (I'm sure TUI operates to NAP on Fridays from other airports). I still can't find the Sat morning PMI selling at the moment. Maybe a swap to a possible ALC? I always found it strange that TUI could operate upto 5 weekly flights to PMI, along with multiple flights there from LS FR ZB but could not offer a single flight to the ever popular AGP and ALC???

I think the Palma rotation will be rescheduled to be operated by a non based Tui Airlines aircraft w-legging in from another UK base, or it will be operated by another airline, eg Air Europa

The additional two flights to Malaga and Dalaman pretty much makes up the 10K additional seats we were told about last week, so I would think that should be about it now. The best we could hope for I think is that the seats book so well they upgrade to a 757 - but I seriously don't think it will happen.

I'm hoping - but i reckon the 757/767-300/787 on short haul are all going into LGW/MAN to make up for the shortage of the Monarch demise.

I am reading elsewhere that LBA will be served next summer once again by a Sunwing 737 800 and that apparently, the Canadian crew love it here in Yorkshire. Well of course! If that is the case then we have no chance of anything bigger for now. To be honest I wouldn't expect it for summer 2018. We have done well to virtually cover the lost capacity from Monarch already through Thomas Cook, 10% increases from TUi and Ryanair and a 40% increase from Jet2 on top of the previously announced additional aircraft. Perhaps for Summer 2019 TUi might consider something bigger - but our new directors will need to sweet talk TUi big style to give us something bigger than they operate down the road at their DSA base.

I was hoping for more commitment from TUi but it seems they are sending their Canadian cousins in for a second consecutive year to cover the Leeds Bradford programme. It does rather water down the local picture. Needless to say it's better than nothing but it isn't TUi proper, i.e. what we used to call Britannia Airways. The arse-end of TUi in England, you might say. Punters probably won't notice, mind. Makes me wonder what hardware Thomas Cook will bring us...

hi all
have just been told (if true) tui have taken out the lba malage and put in a palma,and have taken a few seats on the jet2 wed malaga.
regards
sm1

TUi's Sunday Leeds-Malaga flight is still showing bookable on both TUi's Holidays website and flight only website and still been operated by the based aircraft.
Meanwhile as has mentioned its worth noting it seems like they are also taking a seat allocation on one of Jet2's Leeds-Malaga Wednesday and Thursday rotations...

The Sunday Leeds-Palma flight is still showing flight No TBA0000 "To be announced"

Along with operating own based aircraft flights it now looks like TUi are taking holiday bookings with seat allocations on some of Jet2's & Thomas Cook flights next summer 2018.

Jet2
Lanzarote = Mon & Sun
Faro = Mon, Thu & Sun
Malaga = Wed & Thu
Ibiza = Thu, Fri & Sat
Tenerife = Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri & Sat
Alicante = Tue, Thu & Sat
Thomas Cook
Cyprus Larnaca = Wed
Dalaman = Mon
Palma = Mon

Is that some form of additional commitment from TUI to the Yorkshire region and the largest airport in Yorkshire, LBA?

I do find it odd the TFS allocation, seems a bit of competition to Jet2 (Jet2 are win win here anyway) and to test the market. If they know the market is that stable why not add an additional frequency to the mix?

It certainly adds seat availability from TUi, and it would be nice to think that this is an interim move that might, for 2019, see the basing of a larger aircraft or a 2nd 737. Admittedly a dream, but is this the result of lobbying to TUi by our new airport management team and owners? I guess it also ensures that Jet2, and particularly TCX, fill their aircraft.

Similar to the TCX rumour I’ve just queried in that thread, TUI have sent LBA and Swissport for the Planned Operation 2018, that it will be a TUI based aircraft and not Sunwing?

Is this true?

Without trolling back through the thread, wasn't there talk of a return of the 757 for next summer?

Not heard anything myself so I'll stick with the B738 for now. Basing a B752 at LBA is plauseable especially when you look at the schedule as they have allowed 90 mins for most turn-arounds.
In the past when TUI have based the own metal here they have normly used duel based Leeds/Manchester flight crews with Leeds based cabin crew.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
