Congratulations to Liverpool on reaching the final. They nearly chucked it though.

As with the first leg when they allowed Roma two late goals to reduce the final score to 5-2 in the Reds' favour, the second leg this evening saw Liverpool throw away a 2-1 lead in the match to lose by 2-4 with Roma again scoring two late goals.

Over the two games then Liverpool won by an aggregate score of 7-6.

Well done to Liverpool but they`ll have to do better than that against Real Madrid or it`ll be game over by half time..

I'm not a huge football fan hence the late arrival to the party here but congratulations to Liverpool nonetheless.
What are your sporting interests, Aviador?

Anyone have any idea how many Liverpool fans will be going?

I' m not really into football either but I know it' s a big deal to many, so happy for their fans that they have done well. Liverpool Airport will also get a boost from the event plus some interesting aircraft to see. If I can I'm going to take a look, Although I'm sure I wont be alone for that !

Liverpool and Real Madrid have been allocated 16,626 tickets each which is around half the capacity of the Kiev stadium. As with other competitions such as the FA Cup Final the two finalists receive a derisory number of tickets. Liverpool regularly fill their 54,000-seater Anfield Stadium with an average of over 53,000 in the season that ended today, and Real Madid play at the 81,000-capacity Bernabeu Stadium with an average crowd of just under 70,000.

It can be seen therefore that a large proportion of regular supporters have no chance of a ticket for the final.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
