A few on the 'if it happens' list now:
Thai - Bangkok
Air India - Delhi
Air China? - Shanghai
Hainan - Guangzhou
Jet Airways? - Bangalore
Biman - Dhaka

The summer solstice has now been enjoyed and, whilst we possibly suffer from hallucinations brought on by heatstroke, thoughts turn to the darker months (also known as the winter schedule).

According to sources I understand that the following may, or may not happen.:-

Cathay Pacific - increase capacity with an A350-1000 between December & February.

Corendon Airlines Europe - commence a weekly charter to Marrakech. This flight will be shared with Birmingham.

easyJet - based aircraft increase to 14.

Ethiopian Airlines - Addis Ababa 4 per week via Brussels.

Eurowings - up 1 per week on Cologne and Dusseldorf but down 2 on Hamburg.

Finnair - look to be increasing from E190 to A321.

Hainan Airlines - once again a rumour of Guangzhou but this has been heard before!

Jet Airways - already reported as 4 per week to Bombay.

KLM - can Amsterdam sustain an extra flight each day?

Primera Air - Malaga already reported as a non-based flight. How about trans-atlantic? Hopefully not but watch this thread....

Qatar Airways - already reported as increasing to 18 per week and maybe up to 21.

Ryanair - 8 based units.

Singapore Airlines - increase Singapore/Houston by 1 to 6 per week.

Spicejet - now that name rings a bell. Didn't we see it for the Summer schedules? Maybe a Delhi flight but do they have aircraft?

Various other bits and pieces including United possibly upgrading to B763.

Take this all with a pinch of salt and we'll see what materialised over the next few months.

New easyJet routes for this winter - courtesy of "dried-fruit":

Manchester - Barcelona (1 Dec) - 2x weekly
Manchester - Bordeaux (2 Nov) - 2x weekly
Manchester - Faro (2 Nov) - 4x weekly
Manchester - Innsbruck (9 Dec) - 1x weekly
Manchester - Lanzarote (7 Nov) - 2x weekly
Manchester - Lisbon (28 Oct) - 3x weekly

Apparently Primera were looking at starting Newark and Washington from Manchester for Winter 18/19. Fortunately, from my point of view, this has now been dropped.

I noticed that LAX_LHR has recently post the following on 'dried fruit':

"In other news, it looks like BA could be operating AGP/IBZ and PMI as a ‘BA Mainline’ flight next summer. Oneworld timetable currently showing these destinations as ‘British Airways operated by Titan Airways Limited’ similar to LGW. These flights have no correspondingly LCY sectors to which the MAN flights always start/end their weekend, so, looks to be either a W pattern with LGW or a MAN based aircraft (the latter could mean an all week base given it won’t be using an ‘otherwise idle’ Cityflyer machine)."

In the same post LAX-LHR, in responding to a question, says it looks as if TG has been postponed again. I must be getting gullible because this time I was fairly confident it would happen, especially as TG had mentioned publicly I think that Manchester was being considered.

Still, I expect the ME3 will be happy to retain their transfer pax from MAN to Thailand. And we do have Jet and Ethiopian starting.

With thanks to our 'Old Friend' on Dried Fruit for a link to Aviation24.be where it is stated that VLM are cancelling all scheduled services with the exception of LCY and ZRH. More details below:

VLM maintains scheduled flights to London City and Zurich and will expand charter activities
SHS Aviation B.V., the parent company of VLM, has decided to temporarily reduce its activities on the scheduled airline market and to focus on the flights from Antwerp to London City Airport and Zurich. In addition, VLM will also deploy its aircraft more for private, charter and ACMI flights. VLM will already place one aircraft with fixed crew in the market with The Aviation Factory, the market leader in the Benelux with customised air transport.

“The current aviation sector is so dynamic that it is common for destinations and flight frequencies to be constantly evaluated and adapted according to the season, the performance of existing routes and new opportunities that arise on the market. The performance of the routes is also continuously monitored at VLM. The available aircraft capacity is then deployed on routes and activities that are more in demand and that are profitable “, says Johan Maertens, CEO of VLM.

The connections to Aberdeen, Birmingham, Cologne-Bonn, Maribor, Munich and Rostock will therefore be stopped in the coming weeks and the planned routes from Antwerp and Ostend-Bruges to Manchester will be postponed. Passengers who have already booked for a flight after the termination dates will be informed personally as soon as possible and will receive a full refund of their ticket.

Johan Maertens adds: “At the same time, a fleet reduction will also be implemented. It is no secret that we have been busy preparing the replacement of the Fokker 50 aircraft for some time now. The expected commissioning of the new aircraft is planned for the second half of 2019. ”

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
