I use Windows Movie Maker. It's a free download and is generally one of the more simpler ones that i found which suits me at the moment as i'm still only an amateur on this stuff. I also use it for the trip reports that i've done. It definitely is better than doing everything individually.
I also did a Jerry and im sunburnt

Sorry to ask loads of silly questions but as i am quite new to aircraft photography/video what do guys use when they take videos of aircraft as i watch loads on youtude and they sometimes do get all the shaking. Is this was a tripod could be used for ?? Or can you select a function on the camera to make the video appear less shaky ??
Most modern cameras include an image stabilisation feature. There may even be more than one setting for this. It's not perfect, but it will help. Also, the greater the zoom, the more chance of a shaky image. The old rule for still photography (pre image stabilisation), was that the shutter speed needed to be equal to or faster than the reciprocal of the focal length. So if your lens is at 300mm then you need 1/300th shutter speed or faster.
A tripod will also help, especially for video. Many of the 'smooth' videos you've watched may well have utilised a tripod with a special video head. This gives very smooth movement when panning or raising the lens. They ain't cheap though! Again, a cheap tripod is a waste of money. They are flimsy especially when fully extended. Another option may be a gorilla pod. These have bendable legs which can be wrapped around things like fence posts to aid stability but don't offer much in the way of panning. They come in different sizes, so it's important that it can cope with the weight of your camera.
Hope this helps - I don't mind answering questions.

Taking video of aircraft requires a huge amount of practice to avoid camera shake when panning. As Kevin said a good quality tripod can perform wonders, even a cheaper one will give an improvement and a heavy rucksack hung off the bottom can give it extra stability.
Just for info it's been reported elsewhere that NCP have been issuing parking fines on the Elmdon Car Park, even to those who have remained by their vehicles. In previous years they never seemed to mind enthusiasts on the top floor and often stopped for a chat, it seems that the idiots that cause problems in the evenings have pushed them too far and they are clamping down.
Anybody planning a trip to the car park may want to click the link below and have a read.
