A7-BCR has arrived now it was around 90 minutes late in the end.

A7-BCO is down as tomorrows aircraft and apparently all CWL needs is for A&-BCV to visit and Cardiff will have had all the Qatar Airways 787 8s visit the airport.

I was at the airport on Friday dropping some family off and went into the check-in area (which looked a tad small for purpose at the time - it was chocka) and was surprised by the number of Arabic and South Asian pax checking in for QR (and the amount of bags !) - good to see traffic originating both ends......

I remember watching a TV program about people from the Middle East coming to the UK during the summer months where it's much cooler than out there. It was more focused on London, but I wonder with the promotion of Wales if it's becoming a new type of attractive destination to escape the heat.

Yeah that’s true. University term starts next month and Cardiff has huge international student population esp from China and Malaysia so this should also help the route (and Bristol uni as long as the awareness of CWL is there).

London hasn’t exactly been cold this summer haha.....

Not at present with Bristol University. Their website only mentions Bristol Airport and Heathrow Airport for air connectivity, with details of access to/from those airports. Mind you, their How To Get Here page could do with updating because they show Checker Cars as the accredited BRS taxi service. It's been Arrow for a long while.

The Bristol region is firmly wedded to Heathrow when it comes to long haul scheduled flights and probably only fare price will be a real lure for some if Qatar at CWL can offer competitive fares - the Qatar CEO was on the right lines when he said that Bristol area people have other ME options as one of the reasons his airline discounted BRS and he mentioned BHX but LHR is the real magnet.

It must be said though that overseas students or overseas anybody travelling to the West Country won't be so fixated on LHR, but Qatar and CWL really need to get the message out in those countries from where the majority of such travellers emanate.

Must be the worlds most expensive private jet for sale.Qatari have their presidential jet for sale. Its a B747 8L. Perhaps Donald trump will buy it as talk of airforce 1 being replaced. No doubt this aircraft will have many extras installed.

Airforce1 will be replaced by specially built 747 8s. Through maybe he'll buy it for his own use! It'll be a bit of a downgrade to go from 747s to 757

Im wondering what is special about this 747 8 as there must be something as they carry rulers of the country. My point was its a very much later airframe and it must have a lot of things that airforce 1 has and more than likely much more gear.

Large interior, easy to acquire parts and it's American. Air Force One itself is a mobile command centre as well.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
