Well yes it will, but enforcing it will also make money for the council. So I guess it all boils down to whether enforcing it is profitable. Time will tell no doubt.

I think a red route also gives the council permission to tow vehicles away without notice.

Never ceases to amaze me, the antics that these tightwads get up to, just to avoid paying a few quid..to show how daft they are, the walk from the free drop off is at worst, the same as the hike from the illegal drop offs...
Not to mention that they are usually embarking on a holiday costing thousands but £3 is a deal breaker?????

They deserve all they get

They whinge like anything about a drop-off fee at airports (not just at LBA) yet if the price of the air ticket was increased by the same amount instead they wouldn't even notice.

I wonder whet the 'we're not paying a £3 drop off charge' brigade will make of paying £6.30 over 3 years to travel to the EU after Brexit?

That's the first I've heard of that. Is that £6.30 for a Visa that lasts for three years? It's only £6.30 but then multiply by 4 and add the associated Air Passenger Duty. It accumulatively adds a significant amount to the cost of a holiday for a family of 4 before you even consider the cost of flights and hotels.

Big thing on the BBC website about it today. Will also involve a USA ESTA type job from 2021.

Every household is paying £325 a year for us to be a member of the e.u., so a family of 4 paying £8.40 is cheap in comparison, add to the fact its costing every household £40 to finance the 70 billion trade shortfall with the e.u. yearly and I could go on,.Our national debt is 1.8 trillion and rising 78 billion every year because of our trade shortfall and e.u. yearly contribution, we have to issue bonds monthly to pay for this, all with an interest cost.
Accept there will be costs of leaving and I am sure there must be others in the pipe line, I used to pay for an international driving licence to visit europe, I still pay for a visa to America, these costs incurr, but must be offset by the huge cost we pay today, if you holiday only in the states, no extra to pay.
We know both sides lied about the financial costs of remaining and leaving, George Osbourne would have had to resign if still in the cabinet after the National Audit Office report on his Brexit punishment budget, that included a claim that every household would be £4300 worse of a year, plus job losses etc.
The NAO on being asked to audit this budget came to the conclusion that the guidelines Osbourne gave to the treasury to compile the figures were wrong in fact and method, which made the figures worthless. One crucial element was Osbourne advised articel 50 would be triggered the day after the vote, when in fact as the NAO pointed out, both the government and treasury knew no planning to leave had taken place and this was impossible to achieve. In addition Osborne wanted exchange rates to be calculated on currant rates, whereas the treasury own prediction was for a weakening of the pound if a no vote.
In addition the 1992 crash out of the ERM gave the treasury clear guidelines that a weakening of the pound, long term is a huge financila uplift, for as 1992 shows, last for at least a decade, Osbourne chose to ignore this bad news.

Blah blah blah. You can't value what we get back in return. Number crunch as much as you like. Even Teresa May admitted her deal isn't as good as staying in the EU.

Tony Blair love him or lothe him was spot on. "We're heading for a pointless Brexit or a painful Brexit"

Any further news re: Parkway Rail project. I note from WH's report that having the rail halt aids in bringing in Middle East airlines. So the sooner things happen more good news might follow. It always seems to me that planning and executing these big projects takes longer down south compared to Scotland. In the time Leeds has discussed a rail station on the Harrogate line, the Aberdeen by-pass was agreed and now is almost finished, albeit somewhat late, but nevertheless a £1billion project. At the same time work continues on completing the dualing of the A9 to Inverness. -no mean project!.

It's all gone very quiet on news about the parkway and the new link road. If anything, news on the link road has gone too quiet for my liking.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
