Just read this elsewhere on the internet.. Shame it’s not more regular

SAS will operate a short season of direct flights to Oslo and Stockholm over Xmas and New Year 19/20 using A320 & B737-700
Better than nothing and who knows? The saying should be the same as "a puppy is not just for Christmas”.

"A temporary pop up service to cash in on Europe's best festive shopping destination, is not just for Christmas." Catchy.

you would think that a daily flight to Oslo and Stockholm on a CR9 would be ideal for BHX and SAS, I wonder why they have never tried it? would seem an ideal sized aircraft for these routes?
They would have to rely on point to point traffic only as i believe neither are hubs or at least big hubs for SAS, that is CPH.

I don’t think they have a CRJ base at Oslo or Stockholm to enable SAS to operate flights- but i agree it would be ideal if they did

They still operate from there as on a Saturday morning Manchester gets three one each from Stockholm, Oslo and Copenhagen

Wolverhampton Wanderers, who will have a Europa League campaign.Hopefully they will use BHX to get to their matches.
Also newly promoted Aston Villa.

The Gainjet B757 is the usual conveyance for the England national teams, could this be extended to premier league jollies into Europe?

If I am correct, the Manchester outfits use corporate sponsors aircraft I.e Etihad and Aeroflot but this may be for global preseason tournament tours only.

When the Blues were in the Europa League I think we used a Dragon Rapide for the team and a Cessna 152 for the fan.

Jenny in answer to your comments ManU use Aeroflot for some of the european matches but their pre season they are using
an Atlas Air Executive B747 and a Crystal B777 in the far east/US .City never seem to us Etihad nowdays and from memory
are using a Hi-Fly A340 this year

Mainly for advertising as it used to come quite often on the scheduled service Man U used to have an Air Asia A320
which came over twice but never carried any pax just for advertising

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
