Any idea if business passengers get upgraded to First on these flights or is the First cabin just not used?
Any Ideas how to get upgraded from Economy to Business Class . I’m a Skyward Blue Member anyway lol but any other ideas I’m up for. So if you have any great tips and tricks (as long as they work ) Thank You ☺️

Highly unlikely unless economy is over-sold and I doubt that on the 2 class A380s most of the time even the upstairs economy section isn't open or the first few rows of it are in use, let alone it being over-booked.

A6-EEP today, one of the longer range 3 class frames.

I know they are all capable of long range, some just have slightly different configs in crew rest areas and less seats for the ultra long range versions, there is no visible difference, it doesn't say LR on the fuselage like the 777's for example - I'll shut up now :)

London & Manchester Airways you mean?

Well, they are due an A350-1000 soon, that'll be spanking new...

At least if it snows in London we get their diversions. Something to be thankful for.

Anyway, I digress.

Well according to Wiki (not the most reliable source I know), the BA brand is flown to 13 destinations from Manchester. Compared to every other UK airport outside London that is a VERY substantial network!

Is it me or do I actually miss the double daily 777’s the last time I flew Emirates was going to Kolkata back in 2015 June. Hoping to go on board the A380 Next year (already planning a Trip to somewhere exotic Next Summer ;)) but one thing I would love is if Emirates ever decided to restart the 3rd Daily flight from Birmingham (EK41/42) or even add a 4th flight (If dreams ever come true) would love to see them use their newly renovated 2 class 777-200LR. I know what you guys are thinking 200LR is a reduction but I would love it because I would love to see the New Business Class and Newly refurbed Economy in product in Birmingham and To be honest I think it looks so beautiful don’t worry the A380 will still operate EK39/40 & EK37/38 but it would be nice to have an nice upgraded product if they ever decided to restart EK41/42.

Whilst I too would like to see one of their newly fitted 777's at BHX, I doubt we'll get the chance.

I think the best chance of BHX seeing a return of the 3rd daily flight would be once Emirates have some of their A330NEO's or A350's delivered, however that would be until 2021 at the earliest. Even then I think Emirates would be more likely to use them to open new routes or to better serve existing routes where a 777 is too big.

Alternatively if Qatar ever decide to use a larger aircraft and/or increase frequency I think that would probably end all chances of ever seeing the 3rd daily flight return. Interestingly if the BHX - DOH route continues to grow for the rest of the year at the same rate as it has so far, then by the end of this year BHX will have carried in 12 months the same number of passengers that Edinburgh did when Qatar announced they'd be using the A350 to EDI. Keeping fingers crossed for something in the next 6-8 months.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
