Jet2 have made 3 additions so far to the MAN programme:

AYT - Now 12 Weekly - Extra Monday - LS1701 MAN 1615 2245 AYT // LS1702 AYT 2345 0230 MAN
DLM - Now 13 Weekly - Extra Friday/Sunday - LS1711 MAN 0600 1225 DLM // LS1712 DLM 1325 1610 MAN
TFS - Now 15 Weekly - Extra Friday - LS1767 MAN 1655 2135 TFS // LS1768 TFS 2235 0310 MAN

Some impressive figures for those 3 destinations. I have no doubt there is more to come.

Just following that - i've checked and all seem to be A321 flights.

For TFS on that Friday:

0600 Departure is B757 235
1600 Departure is A330 327
1655 Departure is A321 220

782 seats available on one day alone from MAN to TFS on Jet2 alone.

Jet2 have just added Mykonos JMK to their Summer 20 programme from MAN. On sale from Sunday’s only from 24th May 2020, then goes twice a week Thursday and Sunday from July 16th until the end of September. Sunday flight continues until first week of November.

Has there been a formal calculation of the added seats for next year? 5 more aircraft seems to imply 70 to 80 return services a week. If in place for all summer then it looks like 600,000 to 650,000 more seats. It would also mean that there may be a need to have a few more winter routes on offer!

As well as adding Mykonos, they seem to have increased peak summer frequencies to Corfu (up to 7 weekly), Heraklion (8) and Rhodes (9). Lots of capacity to Greece. I still don't think they've filled schedules for 4 additional aircraft yet though.

They do need something to do with some of these planes in winter. What though - there's only a limited amount of winter sun in Europe.

Jet2 not ruling out further airline expansion for summer 2020
Jet2.com will operate a fleet of 111 aircraft next summer, and boss Steve Heapy hasn’t ruled out adding more.

Jet2 will fly 111 aircraft during summer 2020

Jet2 not ruling further airline expansion for summer 2020

Speaking at the operator’s VIP conference in Spain on Tuesday (26 November), chief executive Heapy said: “If we can get more, we will.”
Last year, Jet2 operated in excess of 100 aircraft, which will grow to 11 for summer 2020. “It may be more,” he said.
“We are talking to aircraft companies at the moment. If we can get more, we will get more and put more capacity in.”
Heapy though said the market was constrained due to the ongoing grounding of Boeing’s 737 Max aircraft.
He said Jet2’s success was the product of risks others in the market, such as OTAs, were unprepared to take.
“Our summer flight programme costs about £1.5 billion to operate,” said Heapy. “That is a massive risk.”

Earlier this month, Jet2 snapped up Thomas Cook’s slots at Manchester, Birmingham and Stansted, which Heapy said represented “significant investment” in three of its nine UK bases.
An additional five aircraft will be based at Manchester, and one each at Birmingham and Stansted Heapy told delegates.
Taking questions from the floor, Heapy said while Jet2 frequently assessed options at all UK airports, he didn’t envisage launching a new base in Scotland in the near future, preferring instead to put more capacity into Glasgow.
And while not explicitly ruling out a move into long-haul in the future, Heapy said Jet2 was not doing any work on long-haul at the moment beyond its existing New York city break programme.
“Maybe one day we will do it, I know there’s demand for it,” said Heapy, responding to a question on whether Jet2 would look at Cuba where there is a shortage of capacity following the collapse of Thomas Cook.
Heapy added Jet2 currently had no plans to launch its own ski operation, but again stressed it was a “never say never” situation.

Jet2 flights to Lisbon begin on the 2nd of April at 2x weekly on Thursdays and Sunday’s.The first flight departs Manchester and 16:30 and departs Lisbon at 20:20. So far only Manchester and Birmingham have picked up this route.

Just noticed that Jet2 have added Manchester 2 weekly but right through summer and as they are the 4th airline on route I am
suprised they even added it at all

Remembering Manchester nicked the Easyjet LPL- LIS service, so situation is overkill at Manchester FR , TP , EZY and now LS. . Less passenger choice from NW id say

I am surprised that NCL and LBA missed out on Lisbon, for now anyway, as MAN is very well served. I wonder how many cross the Pennines to get to MAN ? Also Portugal is popular with many flights to Faro from both NCL and LBA so I would have imagined that quite a number might have chosen to go Lisbon and that area. A few years ago we did Lisbon first, then the Algarve for 2 weeks. A great holiday. We enjoyed Lisbon as a city so well worth a visit.

Manchester didn't 'nick' the easyJet service at all. EasyJet made their own informed business decisions to move the route.

You harp on about this Lisbon thing across 3 forums and all your posts are based on emotion rather than business acumen. It's time to let it go Carl.

I actually used to use the route so.im directly affected. It was a poor decision in my opinion and offers less choice.

And i dont harp on thank you very much.

Firstly you do harp on. The fact its been a year since the move and your still bitter about it, by its own definition, is harping on.

And secondly, whether you see it as a bad decision or not, MAN did not 'nick' it as you clearly stated. EasyJet moved that on their own accord.

Ive mentioned it in the light of the new LS service, I dont believe I have recently otherwise. Anyway good for BHX.

I'm really REALLY surprised we've not seen Porto! Maybe ... 2021?

As others have pointed out, it's a city break. I'm very much surprised to see LBA not have LBA-LIS and maybe EDI-LIS? Maybe 2021?

"Harping on" is continually mentioning a particular story. I can't remember any other comment from Carl since it was first moved. I do read all threads.

At just twice weekly and with all the competition on the route these Jet2 flights to Lisbon will probably be mostly filled by the holiday business rather than competing directly with Ryanair etc.
