There seems to be a lot of this going on round several airfields in the UK with various aircraft. Just wonder if they are doing some pilot training.
No just taking advantage of the lack of commercial traffic to survey sites that might be '' difficult"under normal conditions. For example there was one doing a survey pretty much over Heathrow the other day.

I should have mentioned, their is a Luxembourg registered King Air operating out of Sturgate (I believe) that has been surveying , over the North, all week.

That King Air LX-FPP in fact lives at Gamston and has been there for two months to my knowledge operating every day, weather permitting. Also at Gamston are LX-DNI PC-12 and another King Air 2-MAPP, both engaged in the same task. Incidentally LX-FPP is 32 years old !!!!
There are also 2 Swiss PC-12s flying locally on survey work at present one of which has been flying North/South over the Leeds zone all day at 18000', not to mention 2 Danish P-68s carrying out air sampling. Two Dutch aircraft PH-SVY(Cheyenne) and PH-SVZ(Citationjet) transit over most days, carry out survey work over Ireland then return home to Holland in the evening. All in all they are making use of the lack of trafiic over the country.

And let's not forget the venerable Super Cub G-NNAC from Beckwithshaw often to be heard out and about taking photo's

Sat out in garden and something trailed directly over the airfield and then headed out East. A quick look on radar and it was
Aer Lingus A.330 EI-FNG(EIN 9020) enroute Dublin to Bejing

Super Cub G-NNAC is flying around Adel and Cookridge just now. No banner so I guess he is taking photographs.

I've just seen what looked like a widebody Airbus fly several miles east of the airport, descend heading south. Probably a Doncaster inbound. I heard it before I saw it so relatively low altitude.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
