In my opinion it is the most beautiful part of spain, the mountains to the back mixed in with the beautiful towns like altea, calpe makes it perfect. Me and my folks have a place next to villajoyosa

Very nice, we have a place further up the coast in a village called Pego. It’s just over an hour from ALC on the AP-7 toll road.

Stunning surroundings with the Vall d'Ebo mountain range one side and the Mediterranean the other.

Gandia which 20 mins away is where you can pick up the high speed train to Valencia.

I absolutely love it and cannot wait to go back.

:wtf:

oh yes I know pego, and now straight up the free to use AP-7! At the back of villajoyosa is aitana and camposa mountains, both higher than ben nevis. Have you ever been to Valencia? What a beautiful front to the railway station it has! The city is stunning, probably my favorite city in fact.

OMG i cannot believe I forgot... yes 1st Jan!

I was last over in November. Missed two trips so far! We’ll get there folks!

Yes I’ve been to Valencia many times! We did a case evaluation to restore the link, however extra fights to ALC were proven to be more profitable. Unfortunately the holidays business when added the mix runs the show now.

It just shows how little impact aviation has on the world stage.
That attachment should be sent to GALBA.

To be honest I think we'd be wasting our time. Their agenda is to stop any further development of LBA. They would close it down if they could.

Well there's you answer as to why there is no reduction in CO2 during lockdown (although I would swear that after about 3 weeks they said it had dropped dramatically). It's all down to Offnt's BBQ. I thought all the smoke was coming from another fire on Ilkley Moor!

OMG! Some people do my head in. Just had one woman on the local FB group saying that instead of building a new terminal they should move the airport to one of the many available brown field sites in Leeds that she thinks are suitable for an airport, AND build two runways. Her reason for doing so is it snows too much at LBA and is too windy.

I did ask her where she thought the money would come from. (last estimate I saw was £500m) and her response to that was that they should scrap HS2 and divert the money to Leeds for its airport. She clearly believes the terminal is going to be publicly funded. Where do such people hide out?

Not sure my nerves or emotions can last until the 7th July.

So that is someone who doesn't believe in Climate Change then.

I give up with these people White Heather. Been on a number of these facebook accounts that have sprung up opposing the development of the new carbon neutral terminal. They've all been spun misinformation from the local MP's and Local Councillors who opposite any redevelopment and genuinely believe that the new terminal will result in flight after flight arriving and departing all hours of the night. One woman argued with me that she can't sleep now at 9am on a Saturday morning because of all the flights currently operating and she sees this day as her day of rest after working Monday to Friday. Plus all these 7m passengers we are going to get will cause major traffic delays when she wants to leave her home. She has submitted her objection to Leeds City Council and tells me now there is an extension to submissions she is to petition he neighbourhood to get others to lodged there objection. When checking her account it turns out she lives in Wrenthorpe, not exactly in the vicinity of the airport. Its these people we up against having been spun misinformation by objection MP's and Councillors. What is better a new carbon neutral terminal or extend the old terminal increasing LBA's carbon footprint. They think by stopping this planning application they can stop the airport expanding and totally ignore the face we have planning permission to extend the existing terminal to achieve the goal of 7m passenger by 2030.

I have always wondered what it is about aviation and airports that generates such fear, hatred, ignorance and stupidity in equal measure, even among people, who should know better. People who you would normally think are of reasonable intelligence seem to just lose all of it as soon as they are faced with an airport planning application. They don't bother to establish facts. They just make up their own and end up believing them. It really is a wonder anything ever gets done in this country.

And those are just a few of many reasons you state above why I so hate this country and most people within it now! With certain current events and a weak government its an uncontrollable mess is our little island! I myself think its great to have an airport so close, with their vast coverage of land and the many different airfield layouts that stand out so well on the land, aircraft are an incredible piece of technology, to date one of mans greatest achievements. I think the one main issue what it simply comes down to with aircraft that brings the nimbys out is noise! But my answer to that is don't live next to an airport that's been there longer than you, if you aint happy move, go, be on your way!:finger:

Well WH I can remember that one of the former LCC Councillors thought it was wrong to put a tunnel on Victoria Avenue as such a great cost when a bridge over the runway would be cheaper. Yep that was said.Who says politicians have good sense.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. The news items can then be shared on the site homepage by you. #TakePart #Forums4airports Bring the news to one place!
survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
