So its all but finished is it?
Didnt take very long,
I have some questions
Is there two arms sticking out from t2?
Is there any plans to add anymore?
And does anyone know when its planning to open
And when is the extension planning to open

Welcome Dirky Dirk to F4A and congratulations on your first post.

There have been many delays with regards to the official opening of the extension. You will find in post #1049, dated 18th January, the original opening details.

You will appreciate that at present only Terminal 1 is being used and, as at this morning, there is no date for when any of the other terminals will open. The government's decision to commence quarantine rules will not help.

Pier 1 is already open and Pier 2, by the bus lounges, will be the next to be constructed. When this construction will happen is anybodies guess.

If you have the time to read, if you haven't already done so, some of the updates that I have posted over the last 6 months then you should find the answers to many of your questions.

Please feel free to ask any other questions if you can't find the answers on here, or feel free to message me - via the envelope at the top of the screen.

T2X id now due to open early 2021, delayed by Covid close down and now the tests are yet to start becuase of social distancing and will take 3 months or so

I'm due to fly next week with Ryanair from T3 and must say I am actually looking forward to getting back in the skies again!

Tomorrow (July 15) legacy T2 reopens along with the upper level drop off ramp (payable) - including obviously the new end of the ramp. Should anyone be around there with a camera sounds like you’ll be able to get close to, if not see inside of, T2X. Socially distanced of course.

Speak of the devil...

As some of you know, for the last 3 years every few months I shot a video documenting the progress of T2X. Well, it’s finished (for now) - and so, for maybe the last time, here is a drive around Manchester’s Terminal Two including the completed departure drop off level outside the extension building. I’m starting a gofundme to claim back the £3 it cost to get out.

Thanks @marni1971 for that update and it's good to see the progress that has been made since my last visit in early March - gosh where has the time gone?

A shame, but we'll have to blame the driver, that you didn't have the opportunity to get shots looking into T2X - may be next time, if you get your crowd funding, he could drop you off on 'pass 1' and that you get some footage before he comes back on 'pass 2'??

Maybe the presentation will be available in another format?
I’m afraid it means it’s not being presented. Usually slides are prepared by MAG for it. It would be nice if they were made available but the publicity platform for the TP hasn’t exactly been on the ball.

@marni1971 thanks for the clarification.

Yes, the comms has been awful, I understand it probably wasn't possible during the height of the pandemic, but surly we would have expected some form of comms/presentation by now?! I'm sure some of the projects within the TP have been put on hold, but I'm really interested to know if the new dual taxiway works are still in progress and work that was taking place on the western apron...

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
