Wishlist and Predictions for 2024

Well I will get the ball rolling with my wish list:

1 – Terminal extension finally gets approval and GALBA are sent packing with their tails between their legs
2 – We don’t lose anymore routes
3 – This bloody pandemic finally goes away and social distancing measures end and we call meet up in the pub for a damn good booze up at last
4 – Gradual ramping up of existing routes up to at least a respectable Summer programme
5 – Pick up a few new routes, including getting Heathrow back
6 – Parkway Station gets a move on

Seconded.

After reading this mornings EU news we might as well shut up and go home as I think most airports will have tumble weed on runways.

Yes Mullion, that does sound pretty bad news for an UK airport that heavily relies on travel to the EU. Just think though...you could get loads of civils work done if you didn't have planes rumbling around the place getting in the way.

Very sensible and reasonable wish list bigman, in terms of PAX numbers what are we predicting? I personally think around 1.5 Million? hopefully..

I think that depends now on the impact of a no deal Brexit as much as it does in Covid, although in terms of travel restrictions they are both linked in 2021.

1. To have a proper conservative government with proper leadership who can govern properly with experienced senior ministers in high positions and not this bunch of clowns.
2. To have travel back as it was. Which will happen if we have 1.

Not the place for political views.

My wish list for 2021
1 - Just want to have normal life back
2 - Allowed to go to Pub, Stand at the bar and have a pint with me friends.
3 - Airport gets planning permission approval for the NEW £150 terminal Development, On back of the LBA Support Group petition.
4 - Leeds City Council along with West Yorkshire Combined authority approve the Airport Parkway Rail Station
5 - Jet2 & Ryanair restart to build there schedules.
6 - We get the London link back with British Airways themselves or through a codeshare using another airline.

Sadly all that is on everyones list involves politics and policies made by politicians.

Point 4 - do we know if and when it will be fully functional station? Surely won't take too long if you're adding platforms to running track.

The last year I saw was open in 2024 which is now likely to be the year the terminal would open (at best) if approved. The detailed design planning is ongoing now. That needs to be signed off and then final costs calculated. If it then gets approved it will go out to tender but all these things take a long, long, long, long LONG time in Yorkshire. If it were Manchester it would have been operational by now.

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?
LBA: B737-300 G-GDFK empty down to Paris at 16:15 to operate the return LS268 back to Leeds 20:00 ETA where it will then operate the delayed LS265 to Malaga 20:40ETD
LBA: Albastar B737-800 EC-MUB positioning in tommorow afternoon from Gatwick 15:45 to operate a charter to Lourdes/Tarbes on Friday afternoon 14:00 AP7721 STC
I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
