So when Cardiff reopens the Welsh government will have to find a quarantine hotel for anyone travelling from red list countries. At the moment anyone travelling to Wales via England will have to quarantine in England.

holiday inn express would probably be up for it? Can’t see them doing much currently.

There would be limited facilities there. The rooms and food menu are basic. I would've thought a better quality room with a decent food menu would be required. The nearest one would likely be The Copthorne.

Cardiff is not one of the designated entry points for anyone who would be going in to hotel quarantine, so the tweet doesn't make sense, why would there be surprise there isn't a quarantine hotel there?

My guess with the easyjet would be air testing. Aircraft has had all titles removed so i guess they had major checks before they handed back to lease companies. The 2 aircraft are G-EZWF and G-EZWG both are due to be handed back and both have had all easyjet titles and only thing left on them is the fleet numbers.

I think it's more of a case for when it does reopen if the scheme is still in place. At the moment I believe that the designated entry points are all in the south and surprisingly Manchester isn't included.

Scotland has also contracted hotels near EDI, ABZ, and ABZ so I would assume they will be designated entry points for them - although they are yet to give details.

EDIT: sorry, just to ask, Scotland has said all arrivals are being put in to hotel quarantine and not just those from red list countries. Do you know which way Wales have gone? Also I think the only red list arrival in to Wales would be Faro - is that suspended at the moment?

The meals at the Holiday Inn Cardiff Airport are not to a decent enough standard and not enough options if your confined to the hotel for 10-14 days.

So Wales appear to be going their own way as no advice has been given or available on their website and this rule is effective Monday.

It looks like we are staying with Current Rules where there is a ban for all flights arriving from the 33 Red List Countries or countries under additional measures as it’s called.

If you want to arrive from the 33 red list countries into Wales then you will have to arrive via England or Scotland and isolate in the hotels there before heading back into Wales.

Wales has at last released some rules for Monday. It seems they are not doing hotel quarantine and just stating if you have been to a red list country within the last 10 days you cannot enter Wales. To be fair I am guessing there are no active routes from red list countries directly in to Wales anyway.

The days 2&8 tests also apply for Wales for self isolation - same as England.

There are no scheduled flights to anywhere in Wales at the moment. However doesn’t mean there may not be requirements by Executive Aviation.

I wish there was a single U.K. approach it would make the guidelines so much easier to follow.
I agree. I wish there had been a single UK approach to address all aspects of the pandemic from the beginning.

Referencing the WHO once again, they said there should have been a single international approach to deal with the pandemic but instead each country decided to go alone with their approach.

Sadly many parties have used the pandemic to score political points so wouldn’t of been possible to have a UK wide approach.

The problem is that any UK approach wouldn't be a genuine 4 nation approach with say a joint committee and a consensus on the way to go forward. It would just simply be the UK government saying do as you're told to the other governments.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
