Hi everyone,

Just wanted to pick people brains, if possible, about the 'Eurohub' terminal at Birmingham.

So I know when it opened and the reasons behind this - BA's attempt at a hub-and-spoke system back in the 90's.

However I'm trying to gather some information regarding the terminals operation after BA's departure.....

- When was the 'Eurohub' name dropped? Was this after BA's departure or before this?
- The terminal then became known as Terminal 2 before the two terminals were integrated in May 2011. What is the terminal now known as? Just a pier?
- When did BA operate from BHX to JFK?
- When did AA operate from BHX to ORD?
- When did BA sell their shares in Eurohub?
- Other airlines that have used the terminal/pier over the years - I know Air France and KLM were there for a while. Flybe, Jet2 and Ryanair. Any others?
- Any other information regarding the terminal.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

in a totally unrelated post and based on recent announcements and the assumption that turkey is the way forward for this summer, Ive been looking at the scheduled.

from BHX, there will be 4x airlines flying to 5x destinations on the Turkish mainland during peak August weeks. This results in 65x weekly departures and 10x daily departures for most week days. Jet2 seems to be the biggest airline offering 25x weekly departures (though with their timetable removed for the website, I may have missed some flights) with Dalaman being the most popular destination with 22x weekly flights (1 flight more than the 21x weekly departures to Antalya)

Thought it was worth a look....

With 49,000 new cases of coronavirus just in the last 24 hours, it might be a bit optimistic that Turkey will be a 'green' on the UK traffic light system this summer....sadly.

Any traffic light system this year should be decided more by vaccination rates than infection rates.

I have no idea what measures Turkey have or will put in place to reduce the number of infections, however with another 3 and a half months until the summer holidays start, there's still plenty of time for infection rates to fall.

It should be yes, but 'variants' seem to be one of the major factors too. The Turkish press blame the UK variant on a daily basis, even though direct flights have been banned since 2nd January. Only transit passengers allowed on TK at the moment.
Funny that the daily rates figures only started shooting up when Ankara relaxed restrictions last month. The UK variant wasn't a problem up until then.....but apparently is now. Ankara does love the blame game......

Amber signal is not an indication safety as would a green signal be, much like on roads and railways. It can be read as a warning that could become red reflecting danger so as to Bolton or Glasgow I would avoid to maintain safety.

Mr Hancock says "should " not, leaving it open to anyone to decide whether to travel if a possibility exists.

Potential family trip to Zakynthos next year. The accommodation we use was previously bookable through Thomas Cook but with that no longer an option it's now quicker, easier and usually cheaper for us to book directly with the owner.

Still early days but trying to get a flight from BHX is proving rather difficult. Jet2 only have Mon and Wed available for flight only, which is of no use to us, and just the flights with TUi is almost the same price as a whole package.

I'm going to give it a few weeks and see whether there are any connections that may work but I have a feeling that it may be a trip to London for this one :(

I would hold fire for a few weeks as Green list updates have been a catalyst for additional flights being added. Zante looks extremely likely to be Green on next update so I'm sure the likes of TUI and Ryanair could add extra capacity/Route from BHX. I know it may not end up going on sale for next summer too but it could.

I'd be happy if Jet2 added one of the weekend flights to the seat only website although I do appreciate that they want to push the full package and with high demand it makes sense for Holidays only.

It's a shame as my in-laws flew this route every year from BHX but since the end of Thomas Cook they switched to easyjet from LPL.

Will see what happens in the coming weeks and months.

easyjet holiday routes still only bookable until October.

I hope it's a case of sorting out something bigger and better for S22 rather than a one season wonder.

Well, there is always Bognor!!

If I thought they could get the Kleftiko even half as good I'd be happy to try it :)

We've got to hope that sales for the easyJet flights are strong and hopefully they will continue for S22. I think there is certainly the demand there for these routes as we have lost carriers such as D8, VY, MT, ZB, EVE, BA who have all served these routes. A lot of people find themselves in a situation like yourself unable to find much choice of flights especially flight only. easyJet will bring more flexibility with dates and much lower pricing than Jet2 or TUI for flight only.

I'm confident that we will see easyJet continue these routes and even expand in S22, we also need to take into consideration such routes from BHX are likely to be loaded late due to the W patterns being used to operate them.

People joke about the place but I found Bognor Regis a delightful escape knowing that I wouldn't be assaulted by noisy nightclubs and bars frequented by juveniles masquerading as adults. And. no need for PCR or other varieties of tests for Covid.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
