Whilst I am happy to see the introduction of Shannon, Turin & Bergamo, I just see Bucharest and Vilnius as more of an attempt to force Wizz off the routes. I remember the exact situation before when they scheduled SOF and KRK at the same time and days as Wizz and when Wizz retreated so did they.

Not quite the case. KRK is still served by Wizz (3x weekly) and Ryanair (5x weekly) and SOF is also still served by Ryanair an Tui. Wizz closed their SOF base which was the reason for the cancellation of the BHX, GLA and LPL routes

Great to see Milan Bergamo, it was one on my "To do" list

Now just the little matter of Paris Beauvais, Berlin, and Rome Ciampino and I will be a happy Brum X, for now :ROFLMAO:

I believe from all the routes they applied for in the winter ACL report, Agadir and Beauvais are now the only 2 routes ‘missing’.

Agadir would need Ryanair U.K. aircraft based at BHX, and thus far, that seems to be the only route they have applied for that needs a ‘U.K.’ aircraft. It’s also too long a sector to be a ‘W’ pattern without a crew change at BHX, So whether that route comes off probably has a question mark over it for now.

But the good news is, if they do base a Ryanair U.K. aircraft, that opens more possibilities for non-EU routes, such as Marrakesh, Dalaman, Antalya and Kyiv.

They are now yes as they have returned on the route but this was not the case

Ryanair are to cease operations in Northern Ireland from the end of the Summer schedule. Aircraft will be redeployed in the UK and Europe " at lower cost airports". Source: Sky News.

Having come from there via parentage, I can attest to the notion that walking the wrong side of the road is akin to being Lucifer's representative on Earth. Okay, the soldiers are gone but the wall remains in many guises.

Apologies for the drift, just risen from a slumber!

Be a few unhappy people but they're unhappy anyway already because of the increased likelihood of it.

People being “unhappy” is the least of the problems there if a united Ireland happens ;)

RYANAIR ANNOUNCES WINTER 2021 SCHEDULE FROM BIRMINGHAM - 4 BASED AIRCRAFT, 6 NEW ROUTES (28 IN TOTAL)

Ryanair, Europe’s No.1 airline has announced its winter 2021/22 schedule from Birmingham, opening six new routes (28 in total) – connecting Birmingham to more exciting European destinations from October. As travel recovers to pre-Covid levels, Ryanair’s growth continues to lead traffic and tourism recovery across Europe.

UK families and visitors can now book a much-deserved Autumn break to one of Ryanair’s six new routes from Birmingham including Bergamo, Lisbon, Bucharest, Shannon, Turin and Vilnius. To celebrate, Ryanair has launched a £19.99 seat sale for travel until the end of November 2021, which must be booked by midnight Friday, 10th September on www.Ryanair.com.

Birmingham - 6 new winter 2021 routes:

Bergamo

Bucharest

Lisbon

Shannon

Turin

Vilnius

Ryanair’s Director of Commercial, Jason McGuinness said:
“Ryanair remains committed to re-building the UK’s tourism industry and strengthening connectivity as Ryanair continues to grow in Europe and travel returns to pre-pandemic level. As Ryanair takes delivery of 55 Boeing 737-8200 ‘Gamechanger’ aircraft this Winter, we are delighted to announce these six new routes from Birmingham this Winter – operating a total of 28 routes.

“As travel continues to grow and consumer confidence in air travel returns, Ryanair once again calls on the UK Govt to scrap or suspend APD (air passenger duty), to allow airlines quickly recover connectivity, jobs and tourism in the aftermath of the pandemic. APD makes UK airports very uncompetitive versus Europe, where Ryanair continues to add capacity, having opened a number of bases in recent months in the likes of Zagreb, Stockholm, Billund and Riga. While Ryanair is committed to the UK and its Birmingham airport, the lack of Govt support continues to create further barriers to boosting traffic and growth.

“We are launching a seat sale to celebrate the new Winter routes from Birmingham, with fares available from just £19.99 for travel until end Nov 2021, which must be booked by midnight Friday, 10th September 2021. Our customers can now book in a winter getaway to Bergamo, Lisbon, Bucharest, Shannon, Turin, Vilnius and many more. Since these amazing low fares will be snapped up quickly, customers should log onto www.ryanair.com to avoid missing out.”

Tom Screen Birmingham Airport’s Aviation Director, said:
“After the most challenging last 18 months, it’s fantastic to see Ryanair launching further routes from Birmingham Airport, helping to grow consumer confidence in flying overseas again and supporting the recovery of air travel. These six new destinations starting this winter will give more choice and flexibility for Midlanders looking for a break in Europe, all at amazingly affordable prices. We are incredibly grateful to Ryanair for continuing to grow its Birmingham base and for having confidence in our region.”

A few crumbs of progress at last. Would have liked to see Berlin on the list. Lisbon good to see as a winter destination and onward links to South America. Turin no doubt for winter skiing. Shannon will no doubt also become an Emerald destination along with Cork.

Now what is the Aer Lingus Regional plan - will they return to ORK and SNN and just fly on the days Ryanair don’t?

Some of S22 is now on sale including the new routes.

Vilnius 2x weekly
Sofia 2x weekly
Cork 3x weekly
Shannon 2x weekly
Bergamo 2x weekly
Poznan 2x weekly
Lisbon 2x weekly
Bucharest 4x weekly

Obviously still very much subject to change.

I'll go through the whole schedule at some point but there are still a couple of routes not yet bookable.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
