Surely it can’t be a coincidence that as Jet2 concentrate on the package side rather than seat only that Ryanair take the opportunity to fill the gap?
I think you are very right there Len..RYR have kept a close eye on what they are doing...Removing the 757`s, from LBA, reduces capacity and employing 733`s on some routes like Malaga/Alicante has a similar effect. They will have crunched the numbers, examined the trends and decided there is money to be made from seat only. At this rate I think the 3 aircraft may be available all next winter as well.
Just waiting for RYR to operate back to FUE next November and save me having to go to Manc:banghead:

I used BVA about 4 years ago. Really easy to get into central Paris with the airport coach service they operate to Porte Maillot. Took about an hour. I’m pretty sure CDG still doesn’t have a direct train/metro into central Paris. I used to use the Air France Autobus from CDG to Etoile(Arch de Triomphe) again taking about an hour.

Theres a regulat train from CDG to Paris.

I went to BVA back in 1994 and it took and hour back then so not much has improved. CDG has the RER direct to central Paris. Station close to T3.
But if the flights cost peanuts compared to Jet2, and people are staying a few days, then an hour's trip from airport to Paris is no big deal. The alternative is an hour's journey to go to MAN (on a good day).

Hi, does anyone know when Ryanairs November 2022 seats go on sale please. Im wanting to compare cost with Jet2 before the latters 15% off runs out. Thanks.

FR maybe looking at attracting inbound tourism from France on this route also, worth baring in mind.

Also i was thinking to get another FR AC in this currently climate is a great achievement for LBA, with airports being very competitive / offering incentives, its a real achievement. I suppose if they're taking AC out of Ukraine, it does free up some AC for elsewhere.

Is it really down to LBAs efforts? Im not saying it isnt but I think Ryanair just see an opportunity and go for it. Ryanair have just announced they are moving from 5 to 10 based aircraft at EDI as an example (5 of which will be max's)

Agree completely with the positive comments- competition will have been stiff as I suspect the Mayor of Teesside will have offered FR the earth and more (FR now do a few non based flights into MME) and we will have had to compete with that but LBA has an established base and critical mass so well done LBA - onwards and upwards- maybe some more EasyJet next!

I think the Ryanair expansion is a real positive and will definitely contribute to the rebound in the airport’s passenger numbers. I do feel though that they are still a little on the conservative side where LBA is concerned. Zadar is a break from the more run of the mill routes and I hope this will lead to other less mainstream flights in the future. For potential markets, Germany is a real gap for LBA, as well as potential for Scandinavia and perhaps Romania for EU people residing in Yorkshire.

It was the Ryanair guy called McGuinness who was interviewed and he said that LBA had done a great job securing the 3rd aircraft and additional routes against considerable competition from competing airports.

You can't really compare is with EDI. It's the Capital of Scotland, a stunning tourist city and gateway to all of Scotland too. It's known worldwide . It also has little competition given Ryanair pulled most of their ops from GLA a couple of years ago.

Agree. There is real open market for Ryanair to keep pushing the aircraft numbers in to 4/5 eventually out of LBA. The un tapped markets of Eastern Europe, Germany, Scandinavia as well as Spain and Italy will serve the airline and airport well. Thinking the likes of Madrid, Lisbon as obvious ones from LBA but Seville Valencia in Spain as others. Add to that if Ryanair wanted to go strong into Turkey I'm sure they are aware of the size of the market from LBA to Turkey which would serve them well also.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
