Strange how even though it didn't operate this morning it departed 1h25mins late to LCA...
Could've been any number of different problems from a technical fault to an ATC delay.

It might have been a crewing issue, it didn't land from Faro, until the early hours. Have WIZZ got their own service engineer at CWL, or do they have a contract with Caerdav, or Globaltrek, or somebody else.

Is this purely down to staff shortages or air traffic restraints across the continent or is the airport infrastructure simply not up to scratch?

All that can be said is of late it seems to be "Amazing delays start here eventually”

Isn't there a company there called Swift Engineering that does the line maintenance at the airport?

I don't know of Swift Engineering Jerry, they have a web site but it only relates to a large industrial fencing firm.

Maybe i've got the name wrong then, but i'm sure there is a company at the airport that does line maintenance.

Must be crew as both morning gaps in the week come after the 6 sector day. Possibly they aren’t ready to provide a full schedule for one aircraft just yet.

it does seem strange but with staffing issues at many airlines at present, it’s great Wizz has got off to a good start.

Shame crewing levels weren’t there to introduce a 2 weekly Gran Canaria / Fuerteventura

The problem on Sunday was down to crew out of hours from Saturday I asked the dispatcher the reason for this on Sunday night as I was in work and the engineers that are based at Cardiff are Storm Aviation

I’ve noticed a lot of social media activity about the base opening today, however the actual airline has failed to mention once that they will fly to Corfu…

Maybe a sign? I hope not.

Problem is that the routes wouldn't be up and running that long.
True but at the same time shows the airline how much demand there is for spring/early summer. If it produces good numbers then summer speaks for itself. Definitely an exciting time for the airport and I feel like the momentum of the place has shifted.

They have probably struggled to recruit, like lots of industries. Some may have left from the original intake before the base opening was delayed. They have a huge base at Luton so I imagine any shortages are being covered by crew from other bases until CWL is fully recruited. I wouldn't get too excited about it being further expansion just yet.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
