Hi there Matt995, the issues I'm taking about are delays and cancellation of flights at Birmingham Airport, why.

Hi Andrew, most of the current delays are currently caused by lack of staff in security, passengers have been complaining that they are having to wait 2 to 3 hours getting through security, hence most airlines are having to delay their departures because of this, as you can imagine, if the aircraft is doing several flights a day, the delays could get longer and longer. Some airlines are also having to cancel flights due to lack of staff, or staff sickness (usually covid related). Because of covid, most airlines & airports had to make redundancies over the last few years, now the demand for flights is increasing, airlines and airports are struggling to recruit new staff, hence staff shortages. It not just Birmingham affected, but all airports. Recruiting new security staff takes time, it can't happen overnight, & checks have been done before new employees start. It will all get sorted eventually, everything just takes time. We just live in a mad world at present!

Hot fuel testing. It loaded some hot fuel to test at high altitude(ie cold). Ask airbus why.
Is 'hot fuel' something that BHX can do, but not many other airports can?
FR24 showed it's maximum altitude en-route to BHX to be FL360, but it reached FL430 (must be close to it's maximum) on it's return to TLS.

The test was uploading hot fuel to the aircraft and getting it to high alt before it cooled below a certain temp. Whatever the test involved it needed to be above a certain temp in a cold environment. Nothing BHX specific, maybe testing for really cold environment airports.

Both of the above TUI flights are showing as 'unknown' on FR24. However, if I search for them on FR24 by registration, it shows that G-OBYK operated AYT - MAN, landing at 04:38.
G-OBYF was operating TFS - LGW on 6 May, but diverted to BHX, landing at 01:25 (I presume on the 7 May), without making any attempt to get into LGW. I guess this could be the first flight of the season and therefore was returning empty. With it required at BHX, maybe it was easier to go straight there. FR24 has G-OBYF listed as operating BHX - PMI at 06:40, so has probably remained at BHX since diverting.

TUI showing 763 operating today to Espargos and Palma.

Ryanair first flight today to Zadar, total of 20 outward today.

Jet2 23 outward today including 6 A321.

TUI 15 outward today including 1- 789, 2-763 also positioning out 788 to Newcastle 737 to Gatwick.

Total number of scheduled passenger flights looks like 97 today.

Off to me sun lounger now, fly back Thursday with Jet2-flight only 😶

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
