This Airline is either Jetblue or that Norwegian Airline who are basically Norwegian V2. Outsiders Hans Airways depending on how things go or maybe another US low cost Airline one of the newer ones Breeze and the other one who might be looking at smaller Transatlantic Airport routes ie BHX, EMA, BRS or NCL. For me Of course I would love if we had Delta, United or American here serving us not all 3 maybe 1 or 2 of the three with maybe like 1 flight a day to New York, Boston, Newark or Chicago on in American's case maybe a 787 United a 752 or Delta a 763 or 752. In realistic terms I would like Jetblue to come to BHX I hoped when LHR might have been closed for the Funeral that Jetblue could divert. They ay low cost like Primera and offer direct flights and have had gained a following from what I've seen serving LHR and LGW. So I think it might suit BHX for them until either BHX offers more International Service or improves to attract maybe an American, United or Delta or maybe Virgin then we could expand to Widebodies

You are NEVER getting Virgin Atlantic operating from BHX.

Unless a diversion because of the snow or the wind.

They ever start, and I'm still alive, hit me up and I'll buy you a ticket on the inaugural flight out.
Hence I said depending on LHR and BHX if BHX transforms into a Different Airport almost and has a International Long Haul Flights and LHR becomes pretty much full then Virgin might come here to maybe beat BA who my bet is will expand from Gatwick and Manchester first. If it means beating BA Virgin could however I find both unlikely as both airlines have ops at other airports more likely to suit them. BA LGW, Virgin Manchester, Glasgow I think to but mostly Manchester and potentially Gatwick.
Hence More Realisticaly I said JetBlue or that new Norweigan V2 Airline Norse I think more than likely JetBlue or maybe one of the other new US Airlines who might plan Transatlantic routes but I would be perfectly happy with JetBlue. Another thought WestJet Air Transat serve Manchester WestJet only serve LGW and LHR if BHX could get them I don't think that would be to bad either. But Air Transat have diverted here so maybe we are on there Radar. Anyway why would Virgin never come to Birmingham

Virgin have made it clear in the past that they have no interest in BHX concentrating their operations LHR and MAN.

BHX as ever is stuck in the middle and any Virgin ops would dilute traffic from the former. Virgin will have statistics showing how many Midlanders slog up the M6 or down the M40 and must be happy with the business they get especially as there are no direct services from BHX to North America, Orlando excepted.

While you can never say never to any airline operating from BHX Virgin especially are the most unlikely in my opinion.

The best bet for Birmingham in my view is an airline that has little or no operations from London or Manchester JetBlue ?

That's what I'm thinking JetBlue they do have LHR and LGW is there only routes to the UK. Also another good shout for the future could be WestJet they have LHR I think I know they have LGW so we could get them to. But for the US JetBlue or the other new US Airlines who potentially have plans to do Transatlantic plans. I think it was Breeze but I'm not certain. JetBlue could do JFK and Boston which would be decent.

WestJet have been mentioned by BHX on a number of occasions but I'm assuming their decision to move all international long haul routes to Calgary means they're no longer an option?

Breeze have said they're looking at possible flights to Europe but as was mentioned on here it would likely be from somewhere like Stewart International which is quite some way from NYC and I assume offers very little in the way of onward connections.

If it was up to me I'd be going all out for JetBlue.

Whilst they'd likely be a good fit for BHX, I fear we're too far down their list for it to happen any time soon.

I would imagine Paris, Amsterdam and Dublin would come before BHX, and likely Edinburgh and/or Glasgow before BHX as well.

There is a new airline planning flight's to Pakistan Lahore and Islamabad from Leeds Bradford and East Midlands -(IPS AIR)- they also say on TV in Pakistan they will serve IRAQ and Saudia from UK direct (I will try and suggest BHX Needs Them) as previous comment I agree it is true we all should get together and set up a new airline start flights to USA and ASIA - it be successful. Hope all is well good evening to all on the forum with love x x https://simpleflying.com/new-start-up-ips-airways/

IPS have made a mess of their launch from LBA and have now changed their plans to operate from MAN and EMA (read the LBA forum for just how bad they have been). Personally, I don't think this airline will ever get off the ground and certainly don't want to see them at BHX. I don't think they even have an aircraft yet.

I still don't see why everyone believes Birmingham to New York needs to be connected asap, and is an important route? With the current economy, i doubt there is much demand for UK passengers to travel to the US, maybe more demand for USA passengers to travel, but we all know the US population only know 2 UK destinations, London & Edinburgh. Even Manchester is losing US flights, UK regional airports presently won't get a look in, or are on the radar for US carriers in 2023, I doubt any airline could make a profit on the New York route as present for most UK airports. Economies and times will change, and as our Tom Screen has said they are hoping to restore the connection in 2024, providing our UK economy bounces back! Don't hold your breath! - People need to be patient. Let's concentrate on getting a few key European routes back, and Qatar, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, and more India routes first! The USA can wait.

I telephoned IPS Airways - they are a funny airline the lady sounded chinese and the manager refused he was asian to talk with me and the lady says the runway at Manchester is the only airport able to cater for large aircrafts - my mum says it is a scam airline - and when I asked about Birmingham she laughed and says Manchester - mum says they will take the money and run - scam airline we must take care - BHX needs more airlines but not this one x x love to everyone x x enjoy the day x x

This is quite funny!. The BHX runway is the same length as both Manchester runways. The whole IPS thing seems rather dodgy at the moment.

It is a scam airline. They haven’t paid people back for cancelled flights (that never happened)

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
