I feel a good biz plan for flybe would be to have 3 uk bases, belfast, birmingham and leeds. Belfast as quickest way to NI is by air, BHX as its a central location with high population and LBA, we all know why lba would be a good choice, high population, finance center, less competition etc etc stick to those 3 airports to start with using 3 aircraft or so at each base with 1 spare located at one of the bases that can easily be flown out if required.
This current flybe way of thinking is gonna end in a bad way. My plan gets those firm roots established in the ground first, then branch out!

The new Flybe’s operations from LBA have been far from an unmitigated success. I cannot see how making a base there would help. Their business model is all over the place, trying to find a niche which does not exist at the airports they are focusing on. Some code shares feeding long haul operators flying out of e.g. LHR or MAN might help but it is not in itself a solution.

The reason the flybe routes from leeds have been pretty poor so far is because half the flights have been cancelled! Who on earth would fly with them when there is a 50/50 chance you might not get there!! With good marketing (which lets face it has been non existent) and a reliable service im sure it would be a success, plus a larger presence at an airport ( a base) would tend to attract more attention, jet2 is an example.

It must be costing them a fortune in compensation as well as impacting on their reputation. Does anyone know if they are re-booking pax on the Aer Lingus flights (as I believe they have a legal obligation to do)?

Two flights ex BHX cancelled today.

It's just changed to three cancellations out of seven flights scheduled today with tonights Glasgow gone along with this mornings Belfast and Edinburgh, yesterday it was Belfast and Glasgow. Newcastle is experiencing a lot of cancellations also so they are not just picking on LBA they are spreading the chaos - around how kind of them.

Even I have struggled to come up with a new acronym or apt name for this airline. But what I will say is that the previously used Flymaybe isnt even coming close at the moment. They really are an absolute mess

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
