I never knew why they chose to do NCL-LHR knowing they have a lot of competition with BA and they didn’t have a codeshare which probably didn’t help them either. They would have been better sticking to LBA (if it’s to keep their slots) as they didn’t have competition to Heathrow.

Yes and from LBA they were finally getting double figure pax loads!

BHX worked for Mk1, especially to Scotland and they have a base in BHD, so BHD-LBA could be safe, which is why I said concentrate on those 2 bases. Would stop them having a/c all over the place and might just help cover technical issues. They are spreading themselves too thinly just now

It's madness starting a route, then cancelling flights ( and seriously upsetting customers ) due to late aircraft deliveries whilst at the same time, launching new routes at other airports and then cancelling those too! So they end up with a 'presence' at more airports, but also a growing army of passengers who won't book with them again.

Considering this version if Flybe has different management to the old version, you wouldn't know it. They are managing to live up to their old Flymaybe reputation, and then some.

As has been said before, this is a slot sitting exercise for Heathrow. The losses are sustainable as long as the slots benefit, outweighs such losses..Its the nature of business. Only those in the know will be able to judge the when and if. But one way or another, I doubt they are here for the long run, as do those running it, I suspect.

Is this just slot sitting for another airline who they have leased them from - until that airline wants them back?

That's not true. The slots operated by Flybe at Heathrow are remedy slots which British Airways was obliged to release under the terms of the competition agreement to enable it to acquire bmi British Midland. The slots were released to Flybe 1 and through various legal mechanisms, ended up with Flybe 2 (without which I doubt the airline would ever have started, but that's conjecture on my part).

If they continue to fly the slots to the required levels of regularity and punctuality (both in doubt!) then Flybe 2 retains them unless they hand them back to British Airways. They cannot sell them as they are not Flybe 2's to sell - but they can sell the whole airline which happens to have rights to use those Heathrow slots within it.

They are definitely not remedy slots (hence my question). Remedy slots were available only for a handful of routes and these were not the ones currently operated by BE.

As far as I know the original remedy slots post Bmi were Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Cairo, Moscow, Nice and Riyadh based on lack of competition after the collapse of Bmi. I don't know if that has changed since but believe that they haven't.

Only other BE cancellation ex BHD today seems to be GLA. So do we know if it is problems with the a/c that should have done LBA and GLA or are loads really poor? Either way this continues to be a really bad way of building customer confidence and loyalty

Hi, I was born and lived in B36 for a long time - Lindale Avenue, just around the corner from Hodge Hill Comp.
I just noticed your postcode on a post.

Do you still live in the area?

49 trips undertaken last year. First done this year which was to North Wales where surprisingly the only slippery surfaces were in Conwy with the castle and it's walls closed due to the ice.
