The 6 800's which are due for delivery next year and all have bases ear marked for them for S23? Those ones?

Also if they A321NEO deliveries run late, which they usually do, the "plan" for example MAN/LBA/STN/BHX to have them will be pushed back meaning that they keep the 800's at those respective bases. So to expand at BRS for example; and all the 800's are tied up, the sublease larger market could be attractive because a) it covers the 800 which is kept elsewhere and b) tests the water out in BRS to see if they can handle a larger capacity aircraft. Which I have no doubts the market can.

Who knows. You can't say they'll be based anywhere; overall BRS will get an additional one or two. NCL has got a further one and I think EMA. This doesn't mean the specific aircraft coming will be based there it means the overall split will mean more in those bases. Remember this conversation was about S24 and not S23.

Given that they'd need Airbus pilots (which obviously LS don't have at BRS), it makes more sense to keep the split Airbus and Boeing fleets at MAN which is a larger base.

Two ex-SAS 738s have been delivered to Jet2 at Leeds Bradford, one today and another a few days ago. One is currently at the hangar and I believe the other is heading there imminently.

Quite the presumption that it’ll be overall “better” given it’s the exact same staff…

Anyway, the article states Chania (Crete) is an exclusive destination from Bristol - which is completely untrue as EZY will also serve it from June.

It was by no means a dig at the folk doing the job, just the incompetent employer. Swissport imo are a shower and the sooner they piss off from the UK the better.

I worked ramp at the start of my aviation journey albeit at LBA. Ive seen first hand the race to the bottom, understaffing, inexperience, lack of skills and most of all generally not caring.

Incidentally Jet2 ground handling was created on the back of the state of service received at LBA during the early years, Bristol has come about because of poor service from Swissport too! Self handling has usually not been implemented until there are at least 9-10 based frames so the fact they’ve taken the decision early is a testament to the poor state at Swissport BRS, Ryanair priority will only get them so far…

As for the folks who have joined jet2 - I’m sure they’ll enjoy the better working practices, staffing levels, training and the very fact they are a part of a big team who’s sole focus is on turning around their company aircraft safety and on time.

The biggest advantage is they manage only one operation. Don't need to pull staff off one flight to go deal with another. Resource is allocated efficiently and reallocated in delays (as we are fans of the industry susceptible to delays mainly due to the French and German ATC providers been incompetent).

Poor customer service can be properly investigated not brushed under the carpet by rubbish management.

Assuming that the team wasn't exclusive too Jet2, i'd have thought it would depend on the contract but it would be quite possible that a handler has a dedicated team just for one airline if the operation is big enough.

Well in general that tends to be because the airline will pay as little as possible. I'd be surprised if Jet2 was any different.

Something we know very little about. I know the only airline that has exclusive teams, particularly when it comes to customer facing ones, is Ryanair.
