I think this probably points to something else positive in all this. Yes it's been here 10 days but overall damage can't have been too bad if already fit to go. Not saying there hasn't been any but we all know it could have been far worse. TUI probably can't wait to get this a/c out of LBA today as heaven forbid having 3 TUI aircraft at LBA in one day tomorrow!

3? Optimist!

I've read just now that this aircraft is going to Warsaw for an overdue C check and that today is its deadline date. So presumably it was previously booked in for this , due to the start of the winter season .

Meaning if It dosent't get out of LBA today it will be stuck here with its CofA revoked.

I dont know enough about maintennance schedules but would the aircraft not be permitted to make a positioning flight to the maintennance facility?

Bit like taking an mot expired car for its mot?
I was wondering about about permitted positioning flights for maintenance.

As for driving your car to the garage, if it's M.O.T. has expired, this is a myth. If it's M.O.T. has expired then it will need to be transported (trailer, or possibly towed). Your insurance will not cover you to drive it anywhere if the M.O.T. has expired.

So does this ask any more questions I wonder? Of course did say I wouldn't speculate in advance of AAIB findings but is interesting reading regardless

So it will be flying out without a CoA?
Does anyone know, what has been done to the aircraft over the last 9 days? Was it just a pressure washing or did it have a new engine installed?
I was told pressure wash to make it all clean and sparkly, two new engines and a new tyre and no doubt, a thorough inspection if the wheel wells , flaps, slats , and anything else that moves that could have been infiltrated by Yorkshire muck. But that's all not confirmed. Just what I've been told and read from others who have airport connections.

It is now scheduled to leave toorrow I understand
Still shown as today on FR24 with an estimated departure time of 1710. Nothing showing for tomorrow.

According to the CAA website the aircraft’s Airworthiness Review Certificate expires on 24 May 2024. The deadline for the C check may be one imposed by the maintenance company as these heavy checks are arranged well in advance and any deviation from the agreed schedule can have serious knock on effects for both the maintenance company and other airlines whose aircraft are due heavy checks by the company.

Well yes and know I suppose lol. Just wondered if there was any malfunction aboard that had arisen since it's last major check. That's no slight on TUI because these sorts of things can happen to anyone and absolutely no evidence to suggest anything to that effect. Thing the term is "just being curious"

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
