You know I'm a bit of a fan for a Plane, Tower and Crane ???

Even the A380 looks tiny compared to Birmingham's ever growing skyline ;-) And it doesn't even manage to fit in Eastside which will be the home to our tallest tower currently U/C to the far right of The Octagon U/C

That's a brilliant capture, it really is. (y)

While Tyseley Railway Station may not seem like the most glamorous of stops, it does offer some great views of the city centre skyline, albeit from a distance.

All we need is someone with the camera skills to zoom in and shouldn't be too much to ask for an A380 in the shot?! :ROFLMAO:

The below crappy phone shots taken last June will give you an idea of what to expect.View attachment 30254View attachment 30255

Love this photo. Where was it taken from? That is the new bridge over the motorway by Birmingham Business Park if im not mistaken, but google maps sleuthing doesnt give me any hints. Were you (well, Yvonne) stood on top of the landfill site?

Evening Nibbles,

After speaking with Yvonne, she has informed me that the photo was taken near Fillongley in north Warwks.

If you look closely next to The Octagon tower (U/C), you can see the transmitter on the hill near Dudley ;-)

Hope that helps

;-)

That makes sense, its more or less on a direct line from the point i suggested back to Fillongley. Didnt know there was a suitable tall hill that way, though.

I might pop up there with the telescope and have a snoop around!

Looking forward to the photo's already ;-)

What I do (and if there is an easier method, I would love to know), is open the picture in Flickr that I want to post. Then, at the bottom right of the screen click on the curved arrow icon (Share Photo). In the window that opens, select 'Embed'. Then copy all of the text in the text window. Paste this into any text editor you have (windows Notepad is fine) which will give-

<a data-flickr-embed="true" href=" " title="Image17b"><img src=" " width="2048" height="1371" alt="Image17b"/></a><script async src="//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

From this text select the photo web address. In my case 'https://live.staticflickr.com/8273/29782675634_960972f7bf_k.jpg'

Return to the F4A picture thread and select 'Insert Image'. Then choose 'By URL' and insert the web address copied from Flickr. Select 'Insert' and your photo should appear (you can check using the preview facility).

As I said, it's long winded, but can be done (sorry, I can't show the text from Flickr, without the photo showing).

Thanks Kevin, too long winded for me,think I will stick to posting a link to Flickr. Was used to just choosing a picture and posting it on the older version of the site. Regards,Simon.

Hi Elmdon,

Yeah Ive got to that stage as well as posting too many photo's of towers under construction on the Urban/City Forum. I just have to delete a couple of my oldest photo's to allow space for new photos. That might be a work around for you.

Thanks, I will try doing that.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. The news items can then be shared on the site homepage by you. #TakePart #Forums4airports Bring the news to one place!
survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
