It covers a surprisingly large area when you see it in the flesh, so to speak. As it’ll be on three levels the sheer size of the development including the reworking of the current terminal cannot be under stated. It’s going to be huge!

Yes the ground works extend right down to the free car park area, so yes a huge area!

If you look at the man two thirds of the way down on the right it gives you a good idea of the size if this development. It is definitely huge by Leeds standards.

It's the lower retaining wall, constructed using frames and poured concrete. The steelwork should start being erected next month assuming no delays have been encountered in the last couple of weeks.

A year or so ago there was a shortage of steel…..I presume that's no longer the case?

I don't know, but they've had months to order what's needed and there's plenty of building work going on around Leeds, so supply doesn't seem to be stopping the construction industry.

Some footings appearing for the steel columns in the foreground. I'm enjoying seeing the progress with backfilling, as well as the sloped retaining wall showing where baggage carts will descend into the undercroft.

Spoke to a Farrans construction worker today who advised steel arrival at the end of next week.Footings for steelwork now clearly visible. This all ties in with the earlier post by Sputnik 1.View attachment 30718
