Although nothing has been said recently, PIA’s plan was believed to be MAN followed by CDG followed by LHR. I doubt the company can afford leasing in aircraft so they will be stuck with 3? refurbished 777-300. I will believe all this only when I hear they have touched down.

If there are losers, most likely it would be Saudia and Turkish.
We know PIA applied for 4x weekly slots for BHX-ISB for S24 so its clear BHX is on their radar.

Regardless, if there are losers, I still believe its most likely to be PIA with their 3 refurbished 773 over!

I can`t see PIA back in BHX before late 2025 at earliest and to be honest now a lot of people have found other more reliable airlines, I have my doubts on them returning other than MAN 3 or 4 weekly and the same at LHR as they are in a terrible finalcial state

did hear something about Pakistani airlines having a meeting with the UK and EASA teams. If all goes well, we still won’t see PIA for a bit. They need more 777s out of storage to even operate a single route

PIA invites bids for in-flight catering service at Birmingham Airport.

Station: Birmingham (BHX)
Number of Meals Per Week: 2,200 (+/-15%)

Number of Flights: 3 weekly with Boeing 777

Bids received to be opened on June 26, 2024.

I still cannot work out how they will find the aircraft to operate CDG and MAN, even before LHR opens. BHX was originally not mentioned but they may have decided they cannot operate to LHR and will go to BHX instead. I will believe they are returning when their aircraft land.

There’s much fewer 777s than pre Covid, one 772 was destroyed by military, the other 2 777-300ER have been cannibalised for parts

looking at the forum Ashely mentioned, it states LHR is planned for 10 weekly (alongside MAN with 9 weekly and BHX 3 weekly).

To run all those flights and CDG, you are probably looking at 5 aircraft possibly 6 needed.

Often passenger numbers MAN-ISB were higher than LHR. Unless PIA sources more aircraft I can see them doing no more than 3 x CDG, 2 LHR and 2 MAN.

Birmingham is not being operated until December 2024, or April 2025 at most

Paris expected to be their first European destination

don't hold your breath about seeing them at Birmingham yet, plan was to operate to Paris, London and Manchester first.

current fleet status:-

Boeing 777-200

In service:- AP-BGK, AP-BHX, AP-BMH, AP-BGZ (4)
In active:- AP-BGJ, AP-BGL, AP-BMG, AP-BGY (4)

Boeing 777-300

In service:- AP-BHV (1)
In active:- AP-BHW, AP-BID, AP-BMS (3)

will take them ages to get the aircraft back in service, if they can afford the parts!! :ROFLMAO:

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
