Some information about connecting or self connecting airside which I haven't seen posted. Apologies if already posted

i mean at 2.30pm in T3 you would be surprised if it was more. may be more interesting to see what it is at peak times.

i am not saying T3 is bad btw, but it certainly isn't like that all day.

Courtesy of ringway reports on instagram:

From April 1st summer season dual runway ops times:

Monday-Friday 6:15am until 20:00.
Saturday 6:15am until 16:00.
Sunday 6:15am until 9:30am and 13:00 until 20:00.

are they longer hours than previously? That should help with boosting movements and therefore passenger numbers. In particular, I don't recollect Sunday morning ever needing that and the afternoon dual operations from 1600 not 1300

Has anyone been through MAN recently who can provide an update on the installation of the new security scanners?
I’m flying to Turkey in April through T2 and using T1 in June, so hopefully I can finally use them for the first time out of the UK.

Currently, T2 is 100% new scanners. T1 (B) has the new scanners and in the process of completion at T1 (A). Completion in late April/early May.

Just in time for Ryanair’s T1 move. (Zone A).

Thanks for the info.

I’m flying with easyJet from T1 in June, will they be remaining in security B? I can’t see how this is going to be large enough for first wave departures in the height of summer?!

Initially remaining in T1B for now.

Current plan is that by September all other airlines will have left T1 leaving just EZY & FR.

Once they have left I’d expect EZY & FR to unite on T1A. That however is pure speculation on my behalf.

From June onwards, FR & EZY will have T1 & T3 however many of the final details are yet to be released. Various airside works in the spring to streamline T1 & 3 ready for this.

Stands 29/31 to have bridges removed - works start WC 17th. Stands will be reduced to max code C (A321) in late 2025.

Stand 47 airbridge link to be demolished late March (airbridge was removed at least 10 years ago). This will allow a bigger footprint to make this stand capable of code C (currently max A319). Works should complete late April.

Little longer term, plan is to remove stand 18 and widen 16 & 17 to allow for code C aircraft to use these stands. (17 is used as Non standard where the aircraft is parked on a dotted centreline however this reduces access to T1 on airside roads and also closes stand 16).

Many thanks for all the updates it's really appreciated by all who follow this thread.
It's a shame that the airport has put a block on the weekly updates that use to be available via the Ops thread.

I echo @Scottie Dog sentiments in thanking you for the detailed info as always.

2025 is another exciting year for MAN, so many more improvements coming along.
It would be good if some improvements could be made to the boarding process of gate 41/141!
With the T3 check in areas and security closing in June there’s going to be so much space for a potential expanded departure area, I imagine some of this space could be used, also the current T1 lounges, as these won’t be occupied any longer…

I thought 141 is closing/closed and won’t be used anymore.

141 remains in use albeit normally just the once a day for a first wave departure, and again in the evening for a night-stopping arrival.

141 (Stand 41) only has a domestic arrivals route for pax, therefore any international arrivals must be coached around to gate 50. Therefore it’s not optimal to put an aircraft on this stand. Also, unless using the airbridge for a departure, the route from security to the departure lounge is closed whilst a flight is boarded down the staircase. If using the airbridge for a turn-around, the inbound pax need to cross the departure route.

All in all, a very inefficient gate layout.

As for the future, various plans have shown the removal of the bridge on this stand, and a reconfiguration of the departures route however this is some way off happening yet.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
