Not sure weather it’s because the 733 is full and heavy and can’t takeoff fully loaded from ZTH (although it left LBA this morning full) or there is a fuel issue at ZTH but it’s not tech as far as I know. Or it’s to heavy to fly back with a full load of fuel so has to make a stop somewhere.
Not saying you're wrong but ZTH is a relatively short run for a 737-300 and it should be more than doable direct ZTH - LBA.Its hotter in ZTH so density altitude is higher, also more fuel is generally required for westbound flights due headwinds.
