Its one thing to cancel the outbounds, but another to get the inbound pax back.So far looks like Jet2 have cancelled the CDG, Paphos, Tenerife, Rhodes, Dalaman and Antalya with no doubt others to follow..Probably going to be short of crew in hours, even if they get the machines in..Tough day all round
I've been thinking the same. Say you're stuck in Turkey and your flight home is cancelled, what actually happens? These are generally holiday sun seekers, not seasoned travellers who might be used to this kind of problem. Its one thing to cancel the outbounds, but another to get the inbound pax back.
All the inbound passengers were re-accommodated on other Jet2 flights back to the UK! Helps that the aircraft aren't too full at present so they have enough spare seats!I've been thinking the same. On windy days you'll get a smoother landing! Always the case as you 'fight' the aircraft in, it ends up being a lovely landing. Its the calm wind days where we have a more 'firm' touch downPossibly smashed up runway down to all those firm touchdowns on runway32 due to the touchdown zone set at highest part of runway? It gets a lot of action in that area.
Also Remember yesterday we had bad winds so lots of firm touchdowns, probably wrong but who knows!
Lets hope they find seats for all the outbound pax too.All the inbound passengers were re-accommodated on other Jet2 flights back to the UK! Helps that the aircraft aren't too full at present so they have enough spare seats!

They only do self catering though at DSA. In fact everything is self service.Should have gone to DSA, acres of space in the terminal there, almost as if it’s closed!
They almost never divert to Teesside anyway.Interesting to read on the dried fruit forum that when LBAs runway developed a hole last Friday and was promptly shut with numerous diversions, none went to Teesside because apparently, the terminal was being used that day for a sizeable function . No room for dealing with airline passengers.
Seriously??
True. KLM do occasionally. Ryanair might. Jet2 highly unlikely as they go to a base. They almost never divert to Teesside anyway.
As far as I understand MAN is off the list of alternates for all LBA based Jet2 Crews due to the capacity issues they are having over there.
No stands, no busses, ect.
It’s now a choice of either NCL, EMA, BHX or LPL.
Problem with a wheel, a colleagues son is/was on the flight until they were disembarked and told of the issue and delay. Also looks like the inbound IBZ has gone tech in Ibiza - website says 'operational reasons' - now showing as due after midnight.
Picked my son up from Man late Weds night. After a 2 hour plus delay from Zante to Manchester it was a further 70 minutes before they came through arrivals because of a lack of buses to the remote standsAs far as I understand MAN is off the list of alternates for all LBA based Jet2 Crews due to the capacity issues they are having over there.
