I've been thinking the same. Say you're stuck in Turkey and your flight home is cancelled, what actually happens? These are generally holiday sun seekers, not seasoned travellers who might be used to this kind of problem.
All the inbound passengers were re-accommodated on other Jet2 flights back to the UK! Helps that the aircraft aren't too full at present so they have enough spare seats!

Possibly smashed up runway down to all those firm touchdowns on runway32 due to the touchdown zone set at highest part of runway? It gets a lot of action in that area.
Also Remember yesterday we had bad winds so lots of firm touchdowns, probably wrong but who knows!
On windy days you'll get a smoother landing! Always the case as you 'fight' the aircraft in, it ends up being a lovely landing. Its the calm wind days where we have a more 'firm' touch down :ROFLMAO:

Lets hope they find seats for all the outbound pax too.

I must say, the amount of cancelations was quite minimal. Impressed to see Wizz & Sun Express, position back in. Jet2 & FR did a good job of it also. Considering the nightmare, the programs seemed to have been recovered well minus the inevitable cancellations.

Interesting to read on the dried fruit forum that when LBAs runway developed a hole last Friday and was promptly shut with numerous diversions, none went to Teesside because apparently, the terminal was being used that day for a sizeable function . No room for dealing with airline passengers.

Seriously?? 🤔😮

They almost never divert to Teesside anyway.

As far as I understand MAN is off the list of alternates for all LBA based Jet2 Crews due to the capacity issues they are having over there.
No stands, no busses, ect.

It’s now a choice of either NCL, EMA, BHX or LPL.

This isn’t true as evidenced by the fact there have been a handful of Jet2 diverts to Manchester in the past week.

Jet2 flights are accepted, but It’s more to do with the fact Manchester is already a busy, split terminal operation for Jet2, diverts take a lower priority, so they can be handled faster at the smaller stations and therefore this is where they go.

Picked my son up from Man late Weds night. After a 2 hour plus delay from Zante to Manchester it was a further 70 minutes before they came through arrivals because of a lack of buses to the remote stands
(NB: £20 for 65 minutes in the short stay car park!)

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
