Not sure what you mean exactly about LBA asking the Council to amend it. However, for what it's worth, I've already sent it to LBA asking for their views and comments, particularly as they are already at 4.3m pax per year. Its weird LCC are saying 4.5m pax p.a because I'm pretty sure the reference within the planning approval was 5m, and that a planning application needed submitting for any further works to enable growth beyond that. Such an application isnt needed given phase 2 of the terminal works are all internal. So this must, I suspect, be about Section 106 requirements attached to that approval.
Did they make any comment in the end please?

For information direct from LBA.

All,

We have two community events coming up in August; one in Bramhope (11 August) and one in Otley (13 August).

I have already notified our local MP Katie White along with Cllrs Anderson, Flynn, Lay, Campbell and Downes. Otley Town Council and Bramhope Parish Council have also been made aware. We hope to hold another raft of sessions in September and October at Kirkstall, Guiseley, Menston and Cookridge. Dates and locations are TBC.

Any questions or concerns, please contact Joselyn Rankin [email protected]

Kind regards,

Joss

It is a little difficult to warrant a 140 mile round trip - 2hrs each way - just to be there. I support the airport by using it, 3 times already this year and another booked for September.

The adverts on here are getting out of hand. My main gripe is that I find it hard on many to work out how to close them down. Finding the 'greyed out' X can be next to impossible.

Is it just me?
I'm not sure that you were being serious about Aviador removing adverts therefore closing the site as it would be unviable nor I am sure that he would actually do that even if asked, but there is a simple answer or two. You choose LBAYORIE.

1. Pay the £2 a month to support the site. No adverts.
2. Install Adblock Plus. It is a FREE extension which effectively block adverts.

I used Adblock Plus before signing up for an annual subscription which still leaves the advertisers happy but will cost you a measly 2 quid a month if you pay by Paypal. Aviador then turns OFF the ads for you. Can't afford £2 a month then only drink water. I use a Firefox browserbut recently had to use another browser because my AV programme password manager was playing up. Adblock Plus worked fine with both browsers. Link here adblockplus.org/

I still use Adblockplus for all the other annoying sites on the web. It is a much better browsing experience as a result.

As I put in an earlier post I have contacted Aviador by PM and the matter is now resolved. Im not averse to paying £2 a month and would pay more if the future of the forum depended on it.

Just to be clear the issue was I was struggling to close some of the adverts. I was asking if anyone else had come across the problem.

Mon 11Aug I have no transport available, plus working until 1800. Whilst We 13Aug I have transport I have the same work issue. I noticed all these events are LS postcodes so how about some BD ones where I might have a better chance to attend

Meetings are intended for people who live in the area close to and around the airport so there are no Bradford postcodes, but as you will be aware Menston is in Bradford. There was a request made for an event in Baildon but not sure if it will be acted upon though.

Lets hope dates for the remaining events are released well in advance so you can 'make arrangements'

I quite see what you are getting at. In fact I nearly quit the forum because of the number of ads that were being accepted and imposed upon ordinary members. Ads which to my mind bore little or no relevance to the the majority of memberss made this worse. But I was hospitalised for a while last summer and when I finally got home I approached things in a more relaxed manner and decided to get rid of the pesky adverts by coughing up the money. I don't post much now but I read the threads I relate to plus others on a daily basis to try and keep up as best I can.

Just remind me what the 2nd city name is in the airport name! Do you think BD postcodes dont have aircraft noise etc. Don't people from Bradford fly from LBA! A trick being missed in my book

The noise issue is a big part of the presentation. There are several noise footprint 'slides' and I can only assume that as these show Bradford postcodes are outside the areas with high db levels theres no pressing need to have events there- at least maybe not until later in the programme.

The airport serves the whole of Yorks, parts of Lancs and Cleveland so its actual name is not indicative of the area it serves.

If these events were a marketing exercise I agree they should have a much wider reach- across the whole region served.

Fully appreciate what you are saying @LBAYORKIE but having these events where they are make it difficult for me to attend one when I would like to, that's my argument. And we get plenty of noise in BD16 - maybe it isn't enough then!

LBA did say they would arrange something in the Baildon area for folk living over your way. They need to find a suitable venue available on a suitable date.

I got a reply today. LBA have held discussions with LCC earlier this year regarding the claims made that they have a passenger limit of 5m and/or that they need to submit a planning application within 12 months of achieving 4.5m passengers. They didnt say the outcome or if there was agreement reached, only that their view is that there is no passenger cap of 5m nor is there a requirement to submit a planning application after passing 4.5m.

Perhaps LCC agree. Perhaps they don't and we have yet another planning dispute to resolve. However, if the airport opt to submit a new planning application to vary night hours or increase night movements, then previous planning approvals are likely to be superceded anyway.

What I can reiterate though is, that some years ago, a chap from LCC Planning Department gave a talk to the ACC, and in response to a specific question relating to the alleged 5m limit as constantly stated by G****A, he said categorically that LBA was NOT constrained by any passenger cap.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
